There has GOT to be women out there who like to smoke weed!?!
Maybe it's my area, I don't know. Smoking herb was a BIG problem for my ex. She hated it and hated when I did it. It led to many arguments and tainted the way I live, even now. I always felt like I had to lie about it or sneak around to smoke. (Not healthy, for me or the relationship) I had to do that for so long, that now, I still feel like I need to conceal it from EVERYONE!!! I feel like a hermit. Women around here just don't seem to be into it.

Has anyone dealt with this type of thing? I mean we are all paranoid a little about exactly WHO knows WHAT, but how do you go about bringing up the lifestyle to someone you have just met, or haven't known very long? Do you just throw it out there and say "Fuck it, love me or leave me?" I admire those folks. I would love to live that way, but Pavlov trained THIS dog very well, to be distrusting.

Hell yeah. If you just met them and their not into it then toss'em. My wife smokes too, more then me to the point where I have to hide it so I can have some too. She has a problem with it almost like a addict. I've warned her more then once about touching my plants till I tell her she can. She scrapes everything she can for resin. I even told her today that the dirt from the one we just cut will get her high until the plant dries. I'm gonna laugh my ass off tonight if she tried it. Just start asking the new ladies if they want to hang out and smoke a bowl. That's how I met my wife.

There is even a third class of women...women that don't smoke but are cool if you do.

That's what i got. I'd prefer if she did...but not earth shattering that she does not.

Yeah guys that seems like the easy answer. But I've had seemingly "cool" people snub me after they found out I smoke. I'm not sure if it's the whole stoner stereotype or what. I'm not a bar-fly, I refuse to date co-workers, and the women around here I have met JUST HAVE DRAMA in their lives. Just seems to be hard to meet people who have the same interests as me, but that's nothing new, either. I swear I think it's this fucked up town, everyone thinks their shit don't stink around here. Fuck it, I should move to Cali!!!

Ha, I just got out of a 2 and a half year relationship because she couldnt stand me smoking, along with a few rationality problems that we had. Just keep doing you man, the ones who care dont matter and the ones that matter dont care. If people arent going to like you strictly because you smoke pot then they can get bent.

That's the conclusion I have come to. But when it comes to elders and such I dont disclose my smoking as openly as I would people my own age. I definitely think it should be one of those things you talk to a girl about before a relationship (after the fact of this one I just got out of haha). My cousins all blaze and date girls/are married to women who dont mind them smoking at all. You will find a chick that either smokes or doesnt mind you doing so....or you will find someone to quit for......:: queue laughter?::

don't take this the wrong way, but if you have "seemingly cool" people snub you over weed you might be a snob. i just read it and it sounds assholeish, but all i mean is that people who would snub someone over weed (young people in particular) tend to have a holier-than-thou outlook on a number of things, and the fact that you seem to click with these people until they find out about the weed might be a clue. i swear to god i tried to find a nicer way to word this but this is the best i could do. i really don't mean anything by it but i hope you know what i mean. are you highly educated by any chance? i've noticed that professional types tend to have the biggest beefs with the herb. maybe your standards for friends are askew and you end up surrounded by people who are not your favorite. i really don't know. i'll shut up now...

TH - i understand, i find myself around alot of hot, but dumb, high society girls from the east end and they are good for abit but most of them hate it when i smoke.

No worries and no offense taken. Maybe I don't understand your point? How am I being an asshole if people choose to distance themselves from me when they find out I smoke? Yes, I have a college degree, I'm not sure that makes me highly educated, but I did smoke A LOT in college so maybe I AM highly educated, LOL.

I think, my real problem is that I've grown very, VERY tired of the hypocrisy of the drinking world. Many of the people who snubbed me for smoking pot find no issue with getting fall down drunk, and I mean LITERALLY fall down drunk several nights a week. Yet these people, who are willing to drive themselves home after stumbling out of their favorite bar/buddies house after a night of cutting loose after work, think that pot is some whacked out drug and that people who smoke it are mindless couch potatoes.

Seriously?!?

It could be that it's a big military town too, who knows. Still not sure how I was a snob?

You seem convinced in your decision to smoke weed. I would ask what the reason is first.

Do you smoke to:
Release tension
Get away from marital stress
Forget problems

In other words, it this a pass time or a solution to problems you feel you can't solve.

I assume you are using bud to get away from problems because if that wasn't the case then you would just smoke with your friends.

Truth is, she doesn't agree with it. That means you must choose friends to pass the time with and not her. In this situation you will have to bridal your passions a bit and accept that there are certain things that must be enjoyed in moderation.

Think of it this way, would you enjoy shopping for bra's at JC Pennies every time your woman went out? Probably not. So you like things she doesn't and she likes things you don't.

Try smoking bud while she shops for bra's.

There you go.

i knew that wouldn't come out right. i just mean that maybe "your crowd" is a certain way. by "your crowd" i mean the people with whom you have the most in common. i don't mean that you're a snob per se, just that you mesh well until the weed is mentioned? lol i'm digging a hole. never mind me. if it's a small military town maybe there's just a higher proportion of people who were raised in a home that was generally uptight about the law, and therefore have some etched in stone opinions on the matter. if you don't have access to people who share your interests it's not a reflection on you. i hope that was better.

I find that kind of hypocrisy to be very problematic of modern society, yet is instilled and inflamed so easily, as if they ingest the discriminatory propaganda wholeheartedly. They, like many others in society, that are postulated in an anti stance really have no personal basis to conclude their potential dislike from other than stereotypical dribble or the occasional lethargic asinine pothead that somehow wronged them in the past, and thus their emotional baggage ruins it for the rest. Like someone else posted in this discussion there is always a third tier of women that don't smoke but are cool with it. I wouldn't break it out right away unless they offer their own opinions until you get to know them a little better. There is no general unbiased parameters to reflect off, but you would usually have better luck with those that are more down to earth, easy going, and require less maintenance to motivate and sustain their lifestyle. Regardless of whether they are cool with it or not, I would avoid those with an addictive personality (choice of vice not permitting) for the long run, as they can eventually turn very problematic as the source or antagonist of much unnecessary dramatics.

Well since im in a legalized state I find it hard to locate someone who DOESNT smoke...It seems though that it would be like this everywhere especially with the legalization movement. Go to a music festival ;)

lol i looooove women that smoke weed, i dont know what it is about them but i simply enjoy their company! here they are not TOO hard to find, but i live in a big college town, so most i cant touch anyways lol.but the few i know are cool as hell. ya, me and the mrs fought for about 8 years about it, so ive been there done that man..it sucks, but the one thing ill always believe, is that if the girls willing to give you up JUST for the reason that she doesnt like your personal descion to smoke..(fart sound) not worth your time or love. find someone else, you dont need a hyper-controlling bitch like that..shell only get worse.

eeehh..bringing it up really IS situational..i tend to just keep it to myself unless the opportunnity presents itself..its not something i let define me, its a pleasure of life (imo)..a choice and a way to regulate energy and stress levels. as in meeting or dating, yeah..you have to be honest. "look, i like to enjoy myself without alcohol and chemical drugs..i stay high." and let them accept that as they may..they cant really judge you unless your personifying the stereotype, ya know? anyone else who dips because you smoke? oh well..be the kind of person people seek out regardless.i personally used to drink alot, i got fed up with bars and all that,hung over mornings..i still drink from time to time, but im NOT a drinker.i watch all my other drunk ass friends get DUIs and fall down drunk..umm..im good on all that, thanks. ide much rather smoke. so i feel you on all those levels.
