so i took the newly germinated seeds and put them in some potting soil i found in the garrage, had them on a 24/0 hour schedual and they were growing good till i watered them with water/mirical grow. i woke up the next day and all 4 of my little plants were dead.

Was it too early to use fertilizer or does mirical grow just suck?
I read that hydrogen peroxide and epsom salt works good for something what is it?

What kind of fertilizer should i use/how much/ and when?

I don't know where these dudes shop, but my setup costs under $50! I used 2 double-bulb flourescents and some fert. and potting soil. I germinated them under a paper towel and planted them into flower pots when they started to germinate. I then used 1 gallon (milk) jugs for nest transplanting. come the next onwe I'll actually have to invest in 3 gallon pots, so there's that extra cost of them. but, still, I don't use fancy ph meters, or expensive grow lamps or ventilators (i grow in an unused basement closet) I have 20 plants under 2 flourescent fixtures held up with cup hooks on rope tied with half hitches (for adjustability) running lengthwise across my closet with the 20 plants on the floor under them.

I use a fert. 1x/week, then just use plain tap water the next 2x. I water whenever I can stick a pencil into a jug and it comes up clean (no wet dirt on it) about once every other day to every third day. (I'm finding out different strains use different amounts of water daily!) I'm using liquid plant fert for Vegging state at 10-15-10 then during flowering I use a Miracle gro at 24-8-16. This seems to work ok they're both easily purchased at Home Depot so there's no hunting for weird items in the midst if winter! I am not a fancy grower, just a dude with a home garden.

once you planted them don't touch them for about 1 week! Trust me, they are shocked from being transplanted and need time to 'settle in' water them once during this time keep them on a 18/6 cycle with the flourescent (?) as close as possible to the plants w/out actually touching them. they should flourish under these conditions.

yes! I use the 2 double flourescents for vegging AND flowering. Actually, I had one above a shelf I had to put into an unsed closet. Under that one I started seedlings (Which had germinated already) in standard 8 oz. flower pots. I keep 'em in those until about 2 weeks or until I see roots peeking out the bottom. Then into milk jugs which is where they are at right now. The room has NO heat, so my dehumidifiers exhaust (which is about 65 degrees f.) heats the room and sucks excess moisture at the same time. I'm running a 18/6 right now for about another 2 weeks then it's 12/12 for flowering. I run both fixtures thru a Home Depot Lamp timer ($6) on an extension cord. My complete set-up cost me under $100 and that includes 5 bags potting soil and various ferts. I have 20 plants between 8-14" high at 2 1/2 months.

IF I figure out how to post piks i'll show you...wait...

Well, my fixtures are the standard type with 2, 40 watt cool white bulbs each. like i said nothing fancy or expensive regular fixtures from a hardware store. actually these I pilfered from my basement ceiling. (don't ask; bad basement fixup from previous homeowner; basement had 7 fixtures) so they were free for me. so we're talking 160w max. I keep 'em about 3" away from the plants. It's rough, with so many different strains of weed, it all grows at different rates! I use baggie seeds (being in an area of the world that does NOT tolerate my hobby) I can't buy any online or anything. This is my second attempt. my first went well, but I only had 1 plant. ok she was big, but it was just the one. so with that success comes these piks here and an almost fanatical fascination with the growing of this wonderful natural herb! I read voraciously online here and elsewhere about everything good or bad and yeah I've tried pee cut with water. The output doesn't make up for the smell, not for indoor growing anyways! but I'm here to help and be helped...

my plants look like that at 1 1/2 weeks under metal halide. not 2 1/2 months. i think your going to need more light to flower. but thats just me.

Compared to my first plant these are growing at triple the rate, and for the first one I used a metalarc bulb fixture. these are just flourescents. but I figured, that i'd need about 1 more fixture when they start to grow bigger (in time for the second transplant into 3 gallon pots) I'm pushing space, it's only a 4' x 3' closet with 20 plants and with 3 fixtures, it'll be a tight squeeze!
do you think that;'d be enough? my bigger plants are starting to come into flower, but I'm stalling to allow the smaller ones to catch up.

i think your ganna need more light imo to flower properly. i mean u can do it but u will probly get airy whispy buds. thats just my opinion. a general rule of thumb is 50watts per plant. so for 20 plants u would need 1000 watts. even with 25 watts per plant u will need 500 watts.

well I guess I can mount the fixtures vertically on the walls cause the space is only 3'x4', 4 fixtures will cover the area, but even this will only be 240w total. Sigh, for a sea of green it seems to be alot of lights. I went this way 'cause it seems the cheapest. I guess it is but I'd need a total of about 6-7 fixtures? Does that seem right, then since each one has 80w?

Ditch the t5's Get a M/H for Vegg. Its much better. I had a plant that looked like yours at 3 weeks with a 400 watt m/h . Good luck flowering with those lights though, If I'm gonna take a risk, might as well do it right. Not half ass. No disrespect, Just my Opinion.

Thanks for the info, but I am currently living with the plants in an unheated basement (yeah I sleep in a mummy sleeping bag) due to lack of a job at present. So no funds for any lights. I used what was already in the basement w/ the homeowners permission (they are both potheads. too). it really is a gorilla set-up, but with 20 plants and no real hurry (I know they are taking forever) this is what I've got. I used baggie seeds from various weed strains saved over the yrs! also a gift from the homeowner! it all sits in a closet in an unused room off the main basement. no heat except for the dehumdifiers exhaust (about 68 degrees f) blowing thru a box fan at the plants. And I will post piks soon, but I swear all of them are females. What would the odds be for a random pick of 23 seeds (3 died) from a bag of appr. 10,000? so flouros are the way for me. but I can always get more of them from various basement locations. The last homeowner used 7 of these all across the basement ceiling! I have piks posted elsewhere on this site, can't remember where, offhand (y'know, short term and all that lol) so I'm trying my best with what I got...
