What's A Good Root Generator For Clones?

I'm already using a rooting gel but the clones are taking almost 4 weeks for the roots to show out of the small size rockwool cube. I've seen a few on the market but whats the best you guys have experienced?

You can use the cheep stuff from big box one can use nothing at all some strains are easer to clone than others. A heat mat may cut down on time it takes for roots to forum. To me there is no best cloning solution..

Rhizotonic and generic rooting powder. Didn't let me down once while using soil, with roots starting in just over a week. Bought an aero cloner and using same ingredients (rhizotonic and rooting powder) roots showing quicker and less hassle with not having to water them every day.

I've found that rooting times is extremely dependent on genetics.

Genetics. Any B1 will help establish roots. Super thrive is CHEAP and works well. Aero clone or clone bucket for sure. Set it and forget it

DIY Bubble Cloner is all I use. Clonex and a little SuperThrive and I usually have roots in about 10 to14 days. Matter of a fact, I have a Black Jack thats been in the Bubble Cloner for 13 Days and the roots are coming along well. I can post pictures if you want later this evening.

Clonex + Rapid Rooters + heat mat= roots in 7 days for most of my strains. No dome, that'll kill 'em fo sho.

Heat pad
7" dome

I get high 90% success.
Take cutting, apply gel, trim leaves, place in PHed rooters, cover w/ dome 1 week for roots.
Turn off heat pad and vent dome one more week to lower humidity dependancy

I use all the same gear, but if I leave my dome on more than 24 hours some of my strains die off. If I remove the dome after 24 hours, all pop roots very quickly with very little yellowing if any at all. I take much smaller cuttings than what you have there, but I get very close to 100% success, maybe one out of every couple of trays won't make it for one reason or another.

I'm currently using Superthrive and Clonex Gel + clone nute. Just finishing up building a aero-clone box so seems i got most things covered . Guess its just the genetics of this jack herer...takes 3 weeks to root.

I'm in a desert and RH is single digit. If I don't use dome they dry up and die. I've tried bubble cloner, Aero cloner, and simple
cut and paste but I never have more than 20% - 30% success in those enviros. Some may think that a "pheno" finder in that
only the stronger plants survive. Not my style. I've even put a dome over the bubble cloner and did see a lil more success but
that was toooooo humid. Lots of decay ..... and harder to wing off dome.

Rapid rooters seem to work best for me. I hate the "pucks". I used the clonex solution with them and got em too hot. Killed a
tray and a half by over nuting the babes.

No additives while using pucks. (((IMO))) They are hot and need only RO and a touch of hydrogen peroxide (optional)

Hmmm ... that seems long to me. Are you using a heat pad at all? This is major in my set up. Once
I've got them in the tray under the dome I will only spray them a couple of times in that first week.
Once the heat is off and the dome vented I have to spray them every other day and I think thats
more for my comfort. They will have roots at that point and I stop spraying to promote root use.

That being said ... I've never grown JH. ..... yet

Yeah, I don't mess with the pucks. It's Rapid Rooters, or Root Riot for me. Right now, humidity here is only about 30% so I have to mist several times a day, but that's about it. I get decay with the dome+ Clonex, I'm not sure why. A few of my strains take a few extra days to be transplant ready, but it's usually around a week total time and they all eventually root.

What if you made a larger, sealed box with just enough light to keep temps ideal, use the heat mat and the same setup you have now, but place several containers of water in there to keep humidity levels up. This would in effect create a larger greenhouse than the dome can provide, while allowing a lower overall humidity (which would speed rooting up a bit).

The whole idea for me (I realize your situation is different) is to force the plants to grow roots, or die. They invariably choose root.

humidity here is around 60 - 70% so i dont need a dome. Though i still have one on order for winter. The white widows i cloned rooted in 9 days so I guessing it's just the genetics. I was hoping there was something other than superthrive that i could use to produce roots faster. I seen a few products that say they do so but I'm sceptic of them.

Oh, I mixed you up with the guy growing in the desert, sorry.

One thing I forgot: with my initial filling of the Rapid Rooter tray, I also use Greenfuse root stimulator. I did notice my cuts grew roots consistently a day or two quicker once I started using it. I've heard that House & Garden Roots Excelerator (sp?) is the best out there though. It's supposedly the same product as Humboldt's root stimulator, can't remember the name of it off hand. Hope that helps.

I can attest to how well roots excellerator works but I don't use it until the clones are transferred and growing well. Bummer you desert folks have some many issues with the low humidity. At least your not spending $100 a month on running two large dehu units

Why people hating on the pucks? Seriously, I cut, dip in clonex, put in coller, add two gallons of 6.0ph water with a teaspoon of ST, plug in the clone bucket and walk away. I dont do shit to them after that. On more than one occasion I actually forgot that I had clones rooting.

I use a homemade tote cloner without a dome, I add tap water and a few milliliters of GH Bloom, dip my clones in rooting hormone and I have nice white roots in about a week. But I have never grown Jack

But I grow with Dyna Gro Foliage Pro and Bloom.

i gotta indica dominate strain (supposed to be NL) that is almost impossible to clone .. my WW roots out in about 2 weeks in a bubbler with no RH, no matter what i do to the NL they wont root .. have tried the bubbler,peat plugs, rapid rooter plugs, clonex, olivia's, and rootech jell ... these thing will not root, i have never seen a plant as hard to get rooted in my life LOL

I use roottech cloning gel, thrive alive b-1, humidity dome, and just bought a heating pad for this run because my cloning room is getting pretty cold. I've had 100% success rate with 3 strains and 1 strain with a 20% success rate.
