I did hear reports that someone is trying to organize a counter protest. Lets see how many people that draws.

What is so wrong with ed schultz?
i prefer a calm eye at the center of the storm. ed schulz is too much like the storm.

lawrence o'donnell is my new favorite. he is sharp and quick and rarely looses his cool. when he does, he apologizes quickly.

the rest of what you said i agree with.

A 40 hour work-week is for losers and slackers.

Put in 65....

Put in 70....

You MIGHT get my respect.

Otherwise... not so much. :-P

The affluent work their asses off.

Deal with it...

or stage a 'sick out.'
no thanks, man.

i prefer my leisure time and a bare minimum standard of living because i value my family, friends and loved ones more than any amount of money.

you can't take it with you, ya know. and on your death bed, the only thing that will matter is how you treated those around you.

Then why the class warfare?

Some people choose to work harder.

Your side wishes to punish them.

My side wishes to allow them to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

It simple, really.

you never once used your accrued PTO to take a day off?

you saint :)
if he didn't fuck him. those are called benefits for a reason. for workers to TAKE ADVANTAGE OF. if he hasn't or didn't take a sick day off as vacation after 2 years of perfect attendance it's because he didn't want to. too bad, not my fault.

fuck the boss and the board who doesn't want me to take a sick day off. i'm not a machine. these things were in place as america became the leader of the world. they in no way hampered america's rise. taking them away could lead to america's fall.

at least america still has citizens with balls who are willing to stand up for what is right.

You're honestly saying that nurses, firemen, policemen, state construction workers don't work as hard as someone in the private sector? Really?

not that simple.

'my side' aka the democrats, passed the biggest tax cut in american history under the american recovery and reinvestment act,

personally, i will be using my proceeds this year to set up a third grow space, hopefully propelling me to have the freedom to drop the whole 40 hour a week routine.

'your side' aka the republicans, wants to punish teachers making personal sacrifices by taking away their bargaining rights.

your 'simple' generalizations are not one size fits all.

and i'm not sure where you get class warfare out of what i said. those are simply my personal values. you may have a different set.

SO BE IT :wink:

Those all qualify for overtime, yes?

And are you seriously stating that you have never met a fat, lazy...

Nurse;

Firefighter;

Copper;

or (lol!) state construction worker?

Please tell me that with a straight face.

So be it. :clap:

Boner is going to regret two phrases he's uttered for the rest of his life.

"So be it" and "read my lips."

Yes, because you certainly weren't intimating they ALL were fat and lazy. Nope. No way.:roll:

Will you be paying income tax on your business venture, or do you just expect your neighbors to pay your share? Why is it that those that want income taxes increased on everyone else, always seem to find a way to avoid paying taxes them selves? See the obama administration for examples of tax cheats, hell look at any democrat in DC.

I'm simply stating that I never was paid to skip work, regardless of the circumstances. Sick or not.
in that case, i take it you have never worked a job with PTO benefits.

when i used to call in sick, legitimately or not, they automatically paid out the PTO.

perhaps your jobs were all more flexible, in that you would have to choose to take the PTO.

in any case, point is that you should watch out when wishing for someone to be fired for using their own sick days as they please. perhaps these teachers were 'sick' of getting railroaded by union busting tactics, even after making some sacrifices and offering more.

it also seems difficult to reconcile your indignant outrage at someone using their own accrued time off as they see fit with your spirited defense of letting people keep more of their own money to use as they see fit.

i wish i was paying income taxes on my side business, hopefully soon to be my only business.

but alas, the voters of oregon decided against it last year on prop 74.

they could have had $1000 of my money so i could get a producer license. they could have had 10% of my income from what i produced. they could have also had the state and federal taxes from the rest of my income.

but they said no. i voted yes, to no avail.

so my income will be untaxed.

but at least i won't need to use any public services or social safety nets. and i will still pay my property taxes, gas taxes, and all the other fees and taxes that come with our confounded modern day life.

You are aware that you can send a donation directly to the IRS. I'm sure if you truly "wish i was paying income taxes", the IRS would be glad to take your money. I'll even help you get started, go to www.irs.gov.
