In the aftermath

Watching the wall-to-wall coverage of what is going on in Japan, it struck me that there is one word we have not heard. One which we hear extensively everyplace else that there is a disaster like this, political unrest or both. Looting. Has anyone heard of a single instance of looting since this began?
A reporter was commenting on how dignified the Japanese people are, even in the face of such disaster, and it just occurred to me that there has not been a single report of crime. I'm sure it's happened somewhere, but nothing like you see anyplace else it seems.

Growing up I had Korean friends. I also knew other Asian families.

And You are 100% correct. I have a great deal of respect for Japanese, Korean and Chinese people.

I totally understand what you are talking about. I'm sure others will only mock because they dont get it.

Well I would think it is the way you are raised, what they teach in schools has a lot to do with it. Here in the US they are teaching every body is equal. So you can lay on your ass and that bastard that has been working hard all his life owes you. When the wars started in iraq All I can remember is those children praying to mohaama kill Americans. So I guess it is the way you are raised my vote anyway

The Japanese were given an option to surrender before we dropped the bombs. They had a choice and chose to call our bluff. Dont think Pearl Harbor got an option. Even though the Japanese Goverment claims we were suppose to have received an ultimatum but somehow their timing was off in the delivery. Yet the attack was right on schedule.......without warning.......

i've come accross some older people who are still sore at world events that happened many decades before my time, but i've never met anyone who applauded a natural disaster on a country (an ally no less) because we had beef 60 years ago. that's fucking stupid. both sides did some incredibally fucked up shit before all was said and done and we should all be thankful any form of reconciliation happened at all. fucking move on. you still pissed at britain over the revolution? and you must really hate those jews for killing christ. what a troll.

Right SP...we did.

And 1941...who that was in that war or making decisions is still alive? If the tables had been turned, would we have surrendered?

I agree, it was a terrible war and there was a lot of resentment left over...but those people that suffered, I would guess are pretty much gone now and Japan is our closest ally in that part of the world.

One of the things that sets us apart from animals is that we are capable as humans to experience compassion. I can't hold it against the Japanese people that were not involved with the war all those years ago.... I can however have compassion for their suffering.

The fact that there is no reports of looting etc. is eye opening here in the US where that would be one of the first concern for authorities.

I realize that not all of us were raised to be compassionate... we do have the right to our own views, so please don't attack me for expressing mine also.

Lets do the comparison... I come on here and say that a seedbank is total shit. You join the thread and then share your opinion on the subject then get narky when i dont back down. Your point was "because i had one bad experience with the seed company i should not judge the company as a whole as it was an icolated incident" (In your opinion)

Fine i understand your point..

Now for you. You sit there happily and intentionally mocking the disaster in Japan and you base that on some bombs dropped in the second world war 70 years ago? What the fuck is that all about? Mate if you was telling me not to judge some lame seed company over some shit seeds because of my experience why the fuck are you saying that shit about a nation who have done nothing wrong to you? You wasnt even born back then so how can you even base your pathetic outburst on that? There has been peace for years between the US and Japan and the last time i checked your country was invading countries for fuck all reason?

You are just immoral, your attitude stinks, you are single minded, you need to get yourself a life and learn values.. Also your opinions are totally invalid you have proved now that you talk utter shit and you base the outburst's on points totally irrelivant to yourself.

I hope Rollitup can be cleared of scurge such as yourself. I for one would be glad to see the back of you
