What kind and How much bat guano?

I have 2 Master Kush and 2 Swiss Cheese in peat moss and worm castings. When i put them outside im going to add bat guano to the mix so that the plants will be well fertilized even when it rains.

My question is which bat guanos should i use and how much. I will be putting the plants outside during may, and flowering begins in august. Im thinking i should add a high nitrogen guano and then add another type when flowering starts. Would this be too much nitrogen? Since ill have castings in the mix to provide nitrogen, i dont know if i should ad more nitrogen in guano form or if i should use other guanos to supplement other nutes even for vegging.

So which guano is best to add for vegging in combo with worm castings? And how much should i add per gallon of soil in a 2x2x2 hole?

Theres mexican which is high in nitrogen so its good for vegging and then theres indonesian and jamaican which are high in phosphorous. My friend went to the hydro store the other day and they gave him indonesian which is high in P and said that since he was using worm castings hed want to add the indonesian instead of mexican, but that doesnt seem right to me. Does 1 tbs of mexican and 1/2 tbs of indonesian per gallon of soil sound right or do you pros think the hydro store people are wrong and i should add straight indonesian guano to the peat and castings for vegging?

Mexican BAt Guano - 10-1-.2
used for veg, high N does. Good at fixing Nitrogen issues at any stage. I use as top dress about 1 tbl a week in veg (little less actually). I use in flower to fix N definecies quickly.

Peruvian Seabird Guano 10-10-1
Good for transition dose and early flower - I use this in my actual dirt recipe since I belive the importance of P during veg is understated. Good top dress during transition from veg to flower. Mixed with clay so watch soil consistancy over time. Comes mixed into clay Pellets. High urea smell.

Indonesian Bat Guano .5-13-?
Simmilar to Jamacian in use

Jamacian Bat Guano 1-10-?
Mostly used in flower, quick break down and assimilation. Most poop like of them all.

one thing I try to remember is
1tbl MBG + 1 tbl JBG = 2tblPSG

My soil recipe is full of goodness so I usually never go over 1tbl of any guano per plant per week as topdress. Recommended doeses are about 1-2tbl of guano per gallon pot size but thats a little heavy for me.

Worm castings are just good to use period but dont really relate to the point, they dont really provide enough N except during the first week or two of vegging after that you need something stronger.
The choice between IBG and JBG comes down to your prefered consitency.

GUANOS COME IN THESE FLAVORS:
Desert Bat Guano: 8-4-1
Dry-Bar Cave Bat Guano: 3-10-1
Fossilized Seabird Guano: 1-10-1
Pelleted Peruvian Seabird Guano: 10-10-2.5 or 12-12-2.5
Peruvian Seabird Guano: 10-10-2
Original Sea Bird Guano: 13-12-2
Indonesian Bat Guano: 0.5-12-0.2, 0-12-0 or 1-12-0
Jamaican Bat Guano: 1-10-0.2
Mexican Bat Guano: 10-2-1
Bat Guano: 10-3-1
Marine Bird Guano: 0-12-1

Most Guanos are made into teas at about 3TBS/Gal for full strength. Many of them say 2TBS/Gal on the package but mature pot plants can usually handle more. We make our teas with a little heat and frequent stirring to speed up the process.

When choosing a good type of guano, the price, for one, often reflects the quality. Better guanos are also usually heavier than their lower-quality counterparts. Lower-quality guanos are typically much lighter & softer, very much like a bag of vermiculite. The 10-3-1 Bat Guano is commonly one of the low quality ones. For a high-Nitrogen vegging bat guano, the 8-4-1 Desert Bat Guano is usually the best.

Ok so I was at the hydro store today applying for a job (:mrgreen::bigjoint:) and went ahead and grabbed a couple bags of guano while I was there. 3 small bags of Mexican and 1 bag of Peruvian Seabird Guano. I think I'm going to give the 4 plants a bag and a half of the Mexican(whatever that will measure out to be) when i transplant them outdoors, then 1/3 of the way too august add the other bag and a half to renew the nutrient supply, then 2/3 the way to august add the peruvian to start the transitionto flowering.

Sound good? I think it'll work out especially if I get a job and can invest in some more guano to up the dosage, I have a feeling a bag and a half split among 4 plants wont be the right dosage for a 2x2x2 hole...

Yea I have some kelp meal leftover butnot much, I was thinking I should add a little of that in. It sound like having only nitrogen in vegging is a bad idea, or even just phosphorous and potassium in flowering. I'm thinking Ill aim for a 10-5-3 ratio for veg. Not exactly or anything but like twice as much N as PK. And then like 3-5-6 for flower?

How does that work for you PH wise? Id like to add a potash source in my soil mix but Im scared as hell of that PH=12

It's roughly 1/3tsp pH Down crystals per 1TBS (15g) of Palm Ash steeped thoroughly in water. We're still occasionally working out a precise measurement of how much pH adjuster to use and will likely have to weigh it out in mg. Different acidifier brands & products will probably measure a little differently.
