come on dangly bits i think we made it fun and most everyone made fun of him!!!! I love writing but suck at spelling myself. I will be the first to say it was a stupid comment i agree but overall the thread was fun for me!!!!

I did look into it and put it on my reading list. Unfortunately, i read the preface and some reviews and have started forming an opinion before reading it. Hopefully, by the time I read it I'll have forgotten most of my preconceived opinions.

I like to re-read a lot of books and right now I'm going through my Lovecraft collection. I'm also in the middle of some Dawkins (Devil's Chaplain) and Sagan (Pale Blue Dot) After that it will be either Toqueville's Democracy in America or something by Dan Dennett. And then the Abram book. Then I'll probably delve into some Hitchens and by then I'll probably be ready for a re-read of O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series or maybe even LOTR! I like to read both those series every year or so.

i can't believe so many people are so eager to accept their own illiteracy.

it's ok to be dumb?

my 12 year could out spell most of you. even me.







if i click a thread there are 2 things that will make me immediately back out. 1 being poor grammar and spelling. if i have to struggle to try to understand a question by the time i get to thinking of the answer my attitude is somewhat unhelpful. if you can't take the time to present a question to me in a way that is easily understood then your on your own.

your/you're gets me every time. that and i often forget the "n't" at the end of words. such as "wouldn't". that little error makes a BIG difference. i think what i'm trying to say is......if you can't spell then how do you read these posts?

Kaya, What Strain is that?

Also, I date a Junior High teacher. Sometimes when I leave here a sweet note, or a card, She will leave me a note back saying something like. You forgot to cross one of your T's in Titts.... Grrrrrrrrrrr....... So now I never leave here notes or cards. If I do give her a card. I write this in it..

Hey Lord Dangly - I was wondering why you seemed against the idea of promoting the proper use of grammar. And while I don't consciously proof read posts, I've always found your posts easy to read and understand.

I now completely understand and if I were in your shoes I believe I would have reacted the same way.

Personally, I wouldn't correct anyones grammar. But there might be a good way of looking at it. Maybe she is doing it to keep her chops up - you know what I mean? The more she practices correcting grammar the faster and better she'll be at correcting papers and be more effective in the classroom.

It would still be irritating though.

I won the spelling bee in 4th grade. No joke. You won't have to worry about spelling or grammar mistakes with me:blsmoke:. And I don't use spellcheck. Yeah, I'm a badass:blsmoke::joint:
