house smells like a plant

theres some stuff called gognats. obviously its for fungus gnats, but every time i use just the smallest amount on my medium it makes the whole room smell like a pine forest. of course its not a deodorizer and doesnt compare to a real filter but for less than 20$ a bottle it might be worth lookin into. especially for just one plant.

lol good ideas. happy to know the molasses won't' work before i try it... maybe ill try that odor killer.

bobby, the weather is supposed to get nice outside again in a week so I can probably put the plant baack out but the problem is the lack of darkness at night too so i may just keep her in - if i can keep him quiet.
if she's already in flower, the light cycle is night-long right now unless you're south of the equator so outside is still flowering light regimen; that's why I can't put clones out until after the equinox, they'll start flowering immediately. How's it gettin light & air in your closet? I'm confused now.

the plant has flowers. my closet has a window. I open it and I put the plant outside and under a plant light.

i told u earlier, it's a walk-in closet, not a normal closet. it has a 6 foot window.

the story of the plant is as follows. I bought some weed at a dispensary and there were 3 seeds in the bag. 2 of the seeds were kind of ugly and cracked but the 3rd was really pretty and nice. well, i planted all of them. I didn't know I shouldn't plant at a weird time of year like November so I planted in Nov and all 3 sprouted. I transplanted them into 3-gallon containers and left them on my balcony. I didn't fertalize or take care of these plants at all. I kept the pretty one seperate from the others. Just to see if the pretty seed was stronger. One sprout keeled over and died. The other was lookin strong but it got mold on the soil and I didn't want the mold to effect the 3rd so I poured it over the balcony, baby plant and all. I planted them in a soil called Kelloggs lol. It was the cheapo patio soil at Home Depot but I plant tomatoes and herbs in it before and they turned out well. Anyways, a month or 2 later, I went outside, we had tons of rain and cold in CA, surprisingly the plant I had was about 2 feet tall and looked like it needed attention. I went on google and read and that's how I found this site. Anywayz, I went to the hydro shop and the doods said I needed fertilizer so I got some. I put pix on RIU and I was informed that she was female. Then I decided to veg the plant to wait for fall but it was too much trouble bringing it inside and outside, BF didn't lke it and gave me a lot of shit, wouldn't stop complaining. So I put it back outside and let nature take it's course. Things are OK but it's progressing very slowly. That's why I decided to put her in the closet with some light. of course when i went to the light store the controlling guy who works there was being a prick and telling me which bulbs i can buy...

anyway, to realy understadn the situation you have to see this: https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/408063-hows-she-lookin.html

she's not progressing much :( She's an OG Fire Kush and I was told to expect a hermie because of bag seeds. that's why I don't want to spend much $. Plus i am cheap.

hope this clears up the situation with the plant :)

I live in CA and I can go buy a clone for $10 down the street. that sounds easier for me but i will wait a month or 2 before doing so.Next time I will have more luck outside because there will be stronger summer sun.

Blackstrap Molasses does work to suppress odor on small personal grows, plus, it has tons of great micro nutes. Just do a search on RIU and you'll get lots on info that is how I found out about it. It works enough all I have to do is close and lock the door (no ventilation), I only grow for myself now.

Of course, there is other methods that work just as well or better.

I've heard molasses is great for blooming but I've never heard of using it for preventing of odors. I guess it's probably worth a try considering it's probably pretty reasonably priced lol. I am only growing for myself too, no big grow facility, one plant that doesn't seem to progress very much.

I'm not trying to be rude, but um, I've been here for almost 3 years and am online daily. I have NEVER seen a claim upheld that molasses will reduce the odor of a marijuana plant. Can you please point to a single resource that makes that claim? I did the search and am turning up nothing for molasses and odors so I'm very curious to follow up on that claim.

When I stumble across the link I'll post it. Smell was the reason I tried it. I read a post on this thread about temperature and odor, those are the two things I changed at the same time. I attributed the reduction of odor to the molasses not the temps, I could very well be wrong. When I see that info again about molasses I'll post it. My plants do like it.

yeah that ONA stuff doesn't fuck around at all. I did the same thing with the fan once i saw their rig they sell for em; no thanks, I'll use the walmart fan for 5 bucks. When i needed odor control ONA didn't let me down. I like the linen scented one best. least obtrusive.

i will agree..i use molasses 2 weeks into veg until 2 weeks before harvest, even tho my plants are condensed in a small area and i have no exhaust fan to move the smell out, its relatively odor-free in my basement, at times ill catch a wiff, but with the amount currently almost done, there has to be something to it..idk..i make no claims, but i will support someones personal observable instances cooborating with my own.

It does work, when I smell anything it isn't that intense odor I used to smell. But, I must say that ONA sounds almost too good to be true.

you should just kill your boyfriend, and stash his body in your house

that would take care of the bickering, and the smell. ;)
