List of JOBS and their PERKS

I think you'd be better off getting an education and just getting a well paying job. I don't think I would trade my job for any of those listed just because of "perks". Also your list of perks are ridiculous. Free money from a bank? You think they don't account for every penny?

I say become a caregiver. I smoke tons of home grown dope 24/7.

LOL LMAO ROFL OMG.

Anyway, I still think you are better off focusing on an education and gaining a specific skill set to get you a higher paying real job rather than trying to get minimal perks from a TEMPORARY and PART TIME job.

The specific example I quoted wasn't you, but this one is:

"Im thinking more along the lines of benefits from having the job that arent necessarily obvious.. lol
like for the movies, when your cleaning you get first Dibs on the lost items :P
Police officer.. get a uniform to perform some con acts for self gains.. I cant think of anything but im sure we all have brains and can think of some cool shiiit to do.
(maybe detain a lottery winner and remove all contents before putting in jail and 'losing' the million dollar plus ticket.

Things like that xD"

Do you really want me to explain why this is ridiculous? Because I feel it's rather obvious.

Once again this coming from the man bringing up the bank perk and taking it seriously..

Same case with mine, the Police officer one was a joke only to push people towards knowing what exactly I mean by perks.
I cant think of any on the top of my head so i just typed something random that popped up.

And the whole point of doing 1-2 classes WHILE working is to get a good amount of money (while your still young)
AND getting the education
AND getting a slight edge through the perks...
So not only are you working towards your main career..but your also Utilizing those perks instead of just workin a job and being average.
OH and i said 1-2 classes because im sure we all are a bit too tied up to becoming a full time student, plus a regular job will be hard to pay off ur classes so im trying to make a perk list to 'help' out all the people in my age group who arent being accepted in higher paying jobs because of us being so young compared to the late 20 year olds that are getting the jobs because they had more time to gather experience when they were our age, except i doubt they even thought of PERKS which gives us (the new generation) a boost compared to what THEY did in their lives at our age.

NOW do you get what im saying? because I dont think it can get any clearer the more I keep telling you...

lol plus im bored as fuck so Contribute more, discuss some cool perks no one has heard of or thought of.. or ultimately GTFO :]

In fairness if you only take 1-2 classes and work a part time job your going to be working that part time job for eight years on a B.A. That's assuming 2 classes per semester. Incognito has a point.

Assume you work a part time job with some "perks" for the 8 years your in college. Let's shoot high and assume they'll give you 28 hours a week at 8 an hour. You will make 11,648 which is about average for a part time job and no education. That's 93,184 dollars in the eight years you attend college.

Now assume you attend full time classes. The same degree completed in half or less of the time. Let's say four years in school. Summers off of course so you can work full time in the summer and save your cash to help through the school year. You may have to work more or less due to financial constraints. But the point is, after you finish school working becomes a whole different monster. I started at 68,000 salary right after school. Not a rich man's salary but not bad for a 23 year old fresh out of college.

What I'm trying to convey is that your primary focus should be on your salary. If you need to work then work too but the best perk in the world is a solid financial portfolio. That only comes with a job you had to work to get. I care very little if the line cook at McDonald's gets free cheeseburgers because if I want to I can go buy all the cheeseburgers I want without any impact on my financial health. The same rule applies to 90% of the perks mentioned.

You want a job with perks? Go intern with a stock broker, the education is worth far more than knowing if gas prices are going up or down tomorrow.

thats true, but im not working minimum wage job anymore. but when I was I was always wondering what perks there were in OTHER jobs because I didnt realize the job I was working in never required a highschool diploma. its a pretty fucking long story but I got really god dam lucky and it was because I love to network with the clients that come in, im energetic, a hardworker and a nice guy, so I got this worker to turn in my resume personally and it nailed me an interview, im doing hell of a lot more but thats a WHOLE different thing than of what this thread is about,

I made this thread because Im curious about other perks I never considered, everyones different therefore I felt that other people would have thought of better shit than of what i did. im a pretty smart guy that talks a lot but what seperates me from a lot of obnoxious dum fucks is that Im always down to listen to others and just pay my respects you know?
But I have a girl and taking more than 1-2 classes will be too much for me, at my job people ONLY work and they retire alright, but I just want to get to the point where I dont needa worry about my kids working and stressing over money like I use to when I was fucking making shit for a pay check. dude Id be lucky to make 750 in a month when i was workin 8 n hour.. its fucking bull shit man,

my piece of advice for everyone.. APPLY FOR A JOB THAT REQUIRES A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA (Apply with a cover letter and a Resume NOT stapled, in a folder.)
THAN from there you choose what you want to do.
for me I chose doing what I love and schooling 1-2 classes, I never calculated how long it'd take to get any degrees, as long as I make my money in MULTIPLE ways and am getting my education THATS all i care about.

Most management positions -sit around and order everyone to work harder.
Musician - obvious
Close to home- gas money is a mother fucker
radio station - talk on the radio for a couple hours m-f and go to parties, concerts, sporting events, all sorts of free stuff from sponsers

Being your own boss/working from home - you get to sleep in and work when you want. Wake & bake even but if you want to get anything done I recommend against it....

Worked at best buy. Their discount bennies are great. Only pay 5% over cost for items. You would be surprised what the savings were
