Ok so this is my second serious indoor grow, and this time around I thought I'd learn to clone.
The first time I tried it, my humidity dome was too short and my plants couldn't handle the stress of being smashed down by it and died.
The second time, I tried to do a better job of keeping my plants from rotating in the holes they're put in. So I took some grocery wire and lightly (I thought), tied it around the top 1/4 inch of the rapid rooter. I guess I cut off the stem from the water and they died 12-16 hrs later.
The third time was a little better. I bought the proper gear. Took better cuttings. Added a heat mat. This morning, the rooters were dry and the plant were wilted and dead.
WTF...Ok. Round four. I'm using clonex. Anybody have complaints about clonex? The thing that sucks about the drying out on the third go was that I misted them before I went to sleep and I only slept for 8 hours. I was a little afraid to water the rapid rooters themselves because I read that once you plant the clones you dont want the medium to get soggy. I'm sure I'm doing things about 95% correctly. Does anyone have any other tips I could use?
