All this talk of breeding makes me want to start some regular seeds and do a solo cup grow just to get some good pollen, maybe pollinate a few buds here and there... I dont think I have the room for much for that solo cups once my flowering girls get done their stretch but a solo cup male will put off enough pollen to get a good amount of beans.

That song is in rotation on my ipod that I keep at the flower spot. I just put it on shuffle whenever I go in and let it play whatever it wants, lol. Sometimes I get dubstep, sometimes punk or rock and sometimes I get hip hop but I never know what it's going to play so it's nice.

I'm off to pick up my 2x4 tray so I can get it and the hydroton all cleaned up for veg. I"m sure it's going to be fun...

So peeps, heres the Deep Blue gang, couple of stragglers but some nice looking girls, and the boy is a winner for sure. Nice structure, deep green hue to the leaves, tight nodes and looks like it will have big baws as well. I also have the self topping girl in the mix. She is also one to get pollenated.

So without further adu

Shiva Skunk is( NL#5 x SK#1) and Corleone Kush is (Pre 98 Bubba X SFV OGK F4) ...
I dont know the difference between F1's and F4's...

I guess my goal is to keep these two around; Individually, in seed form... Do I just pick out a male and female or what...

I read some of Subcools breeding stuff and it says to discard early (sex showing) males...

What else do I need to know...

jus take your male, put it on your best female

both of them cross sound like f1s,so if you take your CORLEONE KUSH male, sex it with a female CORLEONE KUSH,
you will have f2s.

How stable will they be. Are they just replicas.. Stable enough to pass to a few of my friends?...

So I could just start 60 f2s and pick out another male and female and keep doin this... I thought it was more complicated than that, or is that just when you breed different strains together?

you can make it a painstakeing task,by looking for certain traits, ect, ect.
or you can jus keep the best "looking"male, and best"looking"female, and make seeds.
with them being f1s,they are not so stable to start with,so the more crossing you do,the more stable the strain will become.
i think as long as you know the strains you are trying to cross, then it will not be so difficult to breed two different strains.
its as hard/easy as you want it to be.

I would say the hardest thing about crossing strains is finding strains that are going to produce something new and different with the resulting crosses. Or you cross into clone only strains to get stock that is similar to the clone only, or you cross to stabilise, or you backcross for uniformity, there is a whole load of reasons and outcomes with crossing and breeding genetics. Like Gen said, it's about as easy or as difficult as you want it to be.

Thanks DST... but I dont really want something new... I just dont want to pay for seeds...

Buy the way... the Real money seems to be in the Breeding end of this buisness... and is definately a direction I would like to transition into someday

I removed the Deep Blue Male from the cab, I know it is ony a couple of weeks into 12/12 and it's still packing on the nutsac's, but it just had this menacing look on it's fizog!! It's in the greenhouse! Wife's reaction, "so there's about 6 plants in the greenhouse now!" hehe, and counting.
