UPDATES TO GARDEN!!! NEW DAY 1 FLOWER PICS!!!


okay guys as promised pictures are here. I did end up pushing the plants into flowering yester day, with a light schedule of 7am-7pm on and off after 7pm until 7-am. let me tell you these plants i swear are growing at rediculous rates now that i boosted nutes to where they needed to be, and now that they are under 21,000 lumens instead of 3,000 lumens. as im sure you all know unless i never stated i am growing several different strains in my flowering cab at once. my post today and from here on out are going to be plant specific i will begin posting pics with tags of what strain they are so that you all can get an idea of their growth patterns through out this grow. I will also use earlier photo's of the same strain so that you can all have a comparison so that you will see how they have come alone in just a few short weeks(plants are about 6 weeks old from germ at this point) so here goes nothing today on the photo menu is day 2 flowering pics. i was at work all day yesterday through the light period so when i got home lights were out so i couldnt disturb them.

update to grow flowering day two plus baby clones cut from best of all my strains!

so i decided to take some clones of the flowering plants before they showed sex. that way if they showed to all be females then i would already have some clones to pun in a week or two from now right behind the ones i have flowering now. these pics were taken from a shitty camera phone so i hope they show well. also given my strains genetics i have estimated that their over all flower time should be between 45-56 days if 56 days it will put bud in my hot little hands by June 4th or so. hopefully sooner when the plants begin producing buds i will monitor their trichomes production everyday with a microscope and jewelers loupe.

hey all got some more updates of these sweet lady's(which a can now call females) because i spotted the begining of a couple of pistillate primordia (calyx) growing inbetween nodes with little white hairs sticking up. i will try to snap some pictures through my jewelers loupe. pictures are hella hard to take cause i have a crappy camera, i tried macro,zoomed in... basically everything so i will make a diagram in paint on the picture to point out what im seeing.

good evening all. Uh to start lets address that question about the cloning. I followed a cloning vid off of youtube. as far as me doing it the right way I am not sure what is the right way? I took my cutting angle at about a 45 degree clip. I used root-tek cloning gel, I used ph'd filtered water, I also split the stem slightly up the middle ( told to in the video??) and lastly the humidity has become quite high as to keep the clones feed with constant source of water (also told to in the vid). whether or not that was the correct process not sure but im sure you guys will clear it up for me.

UPDATES TO GROW! DAY 4 NEW LIGHTING SERIOUS UPGRADE!!! 1000 WATT

So basically as the update title state we got a serious upgrade for the locdawg medical garden tonight after I got off work. I went and bought a 1000watt hps bulb,hood, and ballast. the bulb is a hortilux eye bulb. and im not sure who makes the ballast but it very well suits my needs. I have the lights hooked up to the timer set to turn on at 7am pacific standard time. these items have less then one full month of use and i picked it all up for $150 cash!!!! i was so stoked to snag that deal surprised the craigslist vultures didn't nab that one out from under me, kinda like the first light i called on last night a 400 watt metal halide damn! oh well i think i faired pretty well in the deal scooping up a like new 1000W setup

the next upgrade was a simple one but all the better for it. I bought a $5 green hue compact cfl that I replaced the old incandescents with so that i could work will my light cycle one inactive. apparently through doing a little research i found out that it was okay to use this color bulb because it isn't a spectrum that is used by the plants. is this true to your guys knowledge?

i will post more pics for day 5 tomorrow evening.

Congrats on getting a 1000 watt hps system but I have some bad news for you....... You did not take your cutting right one need at least 2.5 inches and at least 2 fan leaves and 1 inter node with new leaf growth. I clone over135 cuttings every 5-6 days for a few dispensaries and this is what a proper cutting should look like



And this is what it will look like in 7-10 days






I'm gonna sub to follow you on your way hit me up if you need some advice on how to clone.

thanks for the info on the cloning maybe next time will be better for me. i wouldn't quite congratulate me on the 1000watt. seems i should have kept my grow completely cfl oriented. I happen to have killed all six my beautiful little girls today because the 1000 watt got way to hot inside the cab and fucken burned em down! so locdawg's medical garden is totally kaput!!!! (122 degree's Fahrenheit) OMG im so pissed i just want to die right now seriously guys FML !!!

moving on to my next grow i need someone to clarify whether or not I can step down my wattage and still use my 1000 watt ballast with a smaller wattage bulb?

No you can't use a smaller watt bulb. The only way you get lower wattage off a 1000 watt bulb is if you had a dim-able ballast

As for the 1000 watt bulb in cabinet you needed a cool tube and a inline fan to blow the heat out of the cabinet here's a pic of my 4 x 4 tent with my new cool tube set-up

thanks man! well im not sure what to do then with the door closed all day to the cab (during flowering) it reached a max temp of 122 and I have an intake fan (140mm case fan) and also a inside cab ionizing fan ( for keeping air moving inside cab and to strengthen stocks) lastly one more 140 mm case fans up top the cab on the side for exhaust... what gives? am i going to need to buy a squirrel cage fan or an inline fan to move enough air? what is the highest temperature that it can safely reach and not do too much harm?(i hear a lot of different numbers) any one with some answers please weigh in.

not going to let this thing beat my ass im going to keep growing and go get some larger clones from the dispensary when I get paid and start flowering immediately.
oh before I forget I had the light 18 inches away from the plant tops so I guess what I'm asking is was that far enough away or not?

again thanks for hanging in there with me fella's really appreciate, so help me get a hold of this problem so that we can get back to growing some bud!!!
