soil for the summer

I dont have a lot of money so i'm trying to make things cheap, and during my looking for soil i found out that my city dump gives out free organic compost. The dirt i'm digging in is very fertile also, so It would be great if all my soil was free. I was thinking of using this soil recipe:

1 part compost
1 part dirt
1 part perlite/coco coir
1 tbs/gallon of dolomite lime

so what do you guys think? with this simple, yet rich soil recipe do you think i'll grow monster plants with big Chrystaly nugs? I'm growing in 4ft deep by 4ft across holes.

Hey dude, welcome to RIU. Sounds like a good start. You also might want to use a root stimulater. I use pure Mykos for mine. It's pretty cheap and works great. You use 1 Tbls for each whole. A sample bag costs 3$ and is enough for six plants and can be found at most nurseries. As far as monster plants with crystally buds, that mostly has to do with the strain your growing. Good luck, jethead

4'x4' holes, those are some big holes, please tell me you have some sorta heavy machinery to do the digging? I nearly killed myself digging 3 holes that are not quite 3' x 3', and I'm dreading the next 3 I have to dig! Haha, naw, I'm playing, but really...those sound like some big holes definately capable of growing some monsters. But there are many factors in growing, and the size of the hole and quality of soil are only one part. Still, you're gonna be moving a TON of dirt for those holes, literally!

Thanks for the advice man! There isnt a lot available online about mykos being grown with cannabis but websites selling it says it does great things by redirecting nutrients to the roots of the plants. Is there any way that using mykos could actually harm my plants in the same way over fertilizing could?

hahaha yea its definetly taken me a while to dig them. I just used a shovel to dig the holes but i kinda enjoy it. They're being grown on top of a hill so they can get light all day long, but i'll have to haul the soil up to them. Fortunately there's a water source up there so all the hauling things uphill is a one time deal. I'm really trying to grow the best plants I can with the resources I have. It might be a lot for my first grow, but i might as well do it the best I can.
