Apparently metabolizes into psilocin.

Ill have to try sometime, but my favorite is to put them chopped up in a crunchy PB, PB&J mmmmmmmmm shroom sandwichPure chem would be nice
If you don't like the taste of shrooms, Grind them up into powder and mix it with applesauce (Make sure its the good stuff nothing cheap, the more flavor the better) It mask's 90% of the taste.
Add a little sugar and you shouldn't even notice!
Just wanted to point out that there is no evidence to support this. Any of the experts (RR, Roadkill, etc) on shroomery will say the same thing. No difference has been shown in the amount/quality of psilocybin/psilocin between caps and stems.shroom wine is fine.............heads make you see things but you feel straight.............stalks are like popping an e with a bit of wizz...........
Where do you get your solvents? It isn't much of a tek really.
1. Grind up your product
2. Weigh the product
3. WRITE DOWN THE WEIGHT
4. Place your product in a glass container with an inch more acetone than product
5. Stir, shake, or let sit for a couple of hours
6. Filter, throw out the acetone, keep the powder
7. Let the powder dry
8. Place your product in a glass container with an inch or more methanol
9. Stir, shake, or let sit for 12 hours
10. Filter, save the methanol and save the powder
11. Do it again
12. Combine the liquid and dry.
13. Take the remaining goo and put it in a mortar and pestle with some vitamin C and mix it all up. Use enough Vitamin C to make the mixture relatively dry
14. Weigh the product again and determine how strong you want the things.
15. Put it in capsules.
16. Be very very careful
Discussion:
I'm figuring I have a loss rate of around 10 percent, based upon absolutely nothing, so (as an example), you extract from 10 grams. You want each cap to have the effect of an eighth, when you finish, you divide the results into thirds and cap.
I know methanol works the best of all solvents (although acetic acid may be more specific) but methanol doesn't dissolve very much so you have to use a lot. I am quite certain that ethanol works but everclear still has water in it. I'd probably use denatured alcohol - don't worry, so long as you flash the last of the solvent off in a warm water bath, no harm will come to you.
Because methanol doesn't dissolve much, you can work a cold extraction method. It will take longer but I suspect it will be much more pure. The point is reaching saturation levels. Ensure that your methanol is heated (100 degrees? maybe a bit more?) while you are extracting. Then separate the methanol off and put it in the freezer. You will get a precipitate. Filter while cold. Save the precipitate. Then pour the methanol back into your extraction system and repeat. Keep doing this until there is no more precipitate and then either evaporate the last of the methanol or if you are thrifty, distill it off and save it.
I mix the results into vitamin C because it is an antioxidant and it might preserve this stuff which I fear is volatile and likely to degrade quickly with heat and light. Now I wonder if one can reflux this stuff, I wonder if flashing the last of the solvent off degrades it, I wonder lots of things. I think that it would take an entirely different technique to actually arrive at crystals. The crystals that eventually precipitate out of long term storage of tincture are not the crystals we are looking for.
This is wrong lol... so many misconceptions about shrooms, people just make shit up about them lolshroom wine is fine.............heads make you see things but you feel straight.............stalks are like popping an e with a bit of wizz...........
Del, I don't know where you got this, but mushrooms have stems and caps, they are made of the same mycelium, the same cells. I can take a snippet of those cells from any portion of the mushroom and it will grow, eventually into another complete mushroom. It is unlikely that one portion will have a substantialy different effect upon you than another except for the possibilty of of basidium or spores themselves having substantialy different chemical makeup. They don't.shroom wine is fine.............heads make you see things but you feel straight.............stalks are like popping an e with a bit of wizz...........

I know I have read a tek for chrystals using everclear someplace, I will find...
Thanks canndo, bare with me, I am a novice to all extractions and have no science background.Denatured Alcohol? Ace Hardware
Methanol? Ebay
Acetone? Home Depot
I am not an idiot, are you?...is this a good time to reaffirm the dangers to minimize the possibility of someone with admittedly, ZERO experience which volatile compounds, blowing off an arm, their face, or a finger?
Never a problem. This is a more difficult extraction and I don't even know if it is worth it yet. Thanks canndo, bare with me, I am a novice to all extractions and have no science background.
I am a simple stoner that learned how to grow by trial and error.
Gotcha, bro, I do not do anything unless I have hard factual info, the part I have probs with is in nomenclature.never implied you were...sorry if you got that impression...
and yes actually, when i am confronted with a new procedure involving things i don't know about, i am in all fact an idiot, from a lack of experience alone.
mistakes happen...eyebrows, outhouses and homes have been lost.
i misinterpreted you saying you had no science background, as to mean you didn't have any science background...such as how densities of volatile liquids and their resulting gasses are often overlooked by the newb brewer leading to flashovers when using even a modest electrical heat source.
i meant no harm. literally.
...i apologize for wasting my concern.
We have three liquids, all of them volatile. I highly recommend reading the dangers on the labels. Most of these liquids give off fumes that are heavier than air and so should be reduced in a spark or open flame free area. The garage is usually not a good place because of the water heater. Breathing methanol fumes is not a good idea but on the other hand, the amounts we are working with are fairly small, they should be still be respected. If we are refluxing or distilling then we don't want to run out of coolant. I don't like wasting methanol so I distill over a heated stir plate. Choempi comes off as a reasonable and intelligent person, not likely to endanger himself or others with his experiments. We should not be afraid of simple chemicals. I've seen people go out of their way to avoid having to work with lye as though it were some sort of poison. I use it when curing my olives every year, which means I actually eat (admittedly) reacted lye, so it isn't really a poison....is this a good time to reaffirm the dangers to minimize the possibility of someone with admittedly, ZERO experience which volatile compounds, blowing off an arm, their face, or a finger?
