My First Try with DWC, Growing Some Cheddarwurst

Just as those crazy things in Yo Gabba say "Try it... you'll like it". Sorry been watching my kid today. I am converted dwc rocks in my book, I can't wait to build another, maybe even a 4 bucket system.

Super awesome.... I have some of those bucket lids also..... Thats how I'm gonna do my next grow for sure... It's alot easier to control ph with hydro than with soil, and this last run i had alot of ph problems..... Just gonna order 2 of those small 100GPH pumps per 5 gallon bucket, and an air stone in each...... I got over excited, and planted too many seeds this grow, and also took many cuttings, so it was hard to keep up... Next time I will just grow 2 or 3 strains at a time...lol.... Not 6 or 7 plus clones like this time..... Gave many away, but still... Alot to handle at one time, plus flush and everything.... Mainly caring for just 2 right now.... and the Sage, but it's growing so slow compared to the others...might toss it, and put a clone of her into flower instead....... took these pics with my shitty camera, and not the best of pics either...... Plants are asleep right now, so might take some close ups later..... Or just wait till more of a nug is formed..... they are on day 20.... all started on the 1st... Day Bin Laden was killed

They are looking good for day 20. I know what you mean about having too much at one time, I think most of us have done that at one point or another. So far I think hydro is way easier than soil. No humping around bags of soil, cleaning the soil of the floor, no transplants and I don't get all dirty. You just have to much sure all the numbers are right and it grows fast and big. Keep me updated.

He wanted the clone and I told him it was too early he would have to move it in and out all the time for it to keep flowering. Well he did it and that fucking bastard grew some purple looking cheddarwurst that fucking reeks.

Alright I just got done tying down my monster plant cause I am running out of vertical space. I would of grabbed a pic but the damn camera was dead so I will get one later. One thing that I have learned so far is that I will never let a dwc plant veg for that long again, unless I know it won't stretch much. It now takes up half of my tent and hogs up a 1000 watter to herself. I like big plants but this one is too big for a tent. I am thinking about getting some tie wire so I can tie my hoods directly to the frame of the tent and that would give me another 5 inches to be safe. Another thing that tripped me out is the beast drank half the bucket in one day, I may half to top her off twice a day soon when it gets a little warmer again.

Plus he only used the 3 part flora series, and NOTHING else which i thought was cool too.... Fucking disaster, I killed this beautiful plant. Just got caught up in life and didn't take care of her like I should have. Was way too big for 5 gal bucket also. The ph swings were massive and had to fill up twice daily just got to be to much and I got frustrated. Not to mention my timer went out and the light cycle got fucked up. Starting over with a Blue Dream.

I would not say this journal is a good representation of Dwc. This was my first go at it and I could have done a few things better. I have seen dwc systems with a res go a week before having problems. I am trying this again because I think it is superior to soil. The growth I have seen from this plant that didn't make it is enough to sell me on dwc.

Damn I am starting this over again. I am gonna make up for this horrible first go. I took care of a few problems first and now it should be smooth sailing on this one.

Awesome journal!
I really like your space and your tent is awesome haha. How do you like DWC? I find that it gets your plants big but is hard to upkeep...i tried to keep my mothers in DWC buckets and even through making teas and adding mycorrhizae the roots just became nasty after a while and i had to move them to soil.
BTW, what kind of strain is cheddarwurst? Sounds like the ultimate dank cheese or something haha!

Thanks, I like the dwc so far but I have also been liking coco also. I know what you mean about hard to upkeep, last round turned out bad. The plant got so big I had to fill the bucket up at least 2 times a day, it just got to damn big. Then my timer went out on my light and then the heat kicked in. I have a new timer and portable ac connected, so I am ready to go man.
This plant right now is a blue dream cause I lost the cheddarwurst during my issues I stated. The cheddarwurst is fucking bomb though, it's from Alphakronik and the best cheese cross I have grown yet. I want another pack of beans but there are a shit ton of other seeds I want first.

ppm-1100 a little higher than I wanted for right now but I have a heavy hand sometimes, you should try one of my mixed drinks.

Almost a third of the way through flower and it's going great so far. Had to buy a new ph pen cause I fucked off the old one. I was pretty damn close with using test strips for a few days though.
The buds are really going now, trichs are forming, I can't wait to see what this girl will end up looking like.
