Just like them to do this, so they get gay married and smoke pot and eat ben and jerrys and maple syrup and cheese and then when their choices make them sick we have to pay for them to see doctors.

Somewhat bigoted ideals there..

Lets hope Vermont can show that medical costs are under control.

We do have many in Congress who have the very best medical care making sure the rest of us don't unless we can pay.

I didn't mean it like that I'm just saying the choices you make impact you and your health, why should the govt provide healthcare? can the govt make you live for ever? can they make your life perfect? Why should you be charged taxes because people are sick? if you pay more will that stop people from getting sick? You want a healthcare plan?=take care of yourself, eat right excercise but if you make bad choices you will get bad results.

eating right and exercising won't prevent a staph infection.

I can totally agree with what your saying. However, you painted a completely prejudice argument with it and I still don't even understand the connection?

If your from Vermont you smoke pot get high and decide your gay and start doing gay stuff then end up getting gay married and then you and your husband end up sitting around and eating ben and jerry's and pouring maple syrup all over it and I'm supposed to pay for the effects on your health of your unhealthy lifestyle? what if the Ice Cream gives you diabetes? what if the syrup gives you high blood pressure? what is you get Aids from gay sex or what if smoking pot gives you bronchitis? It seems downright unamerican to expect me to pay for someone elses healthcare

1 ) assuming you smoke pot, what if you get bronchitis?
2 ) you assume in order to be gay you have to be fucked up when you made the decision
3 ) who in america doesn't live an unhealthy life style in some way. Even the health nuts have emotional stress, anorexia, and bilimia. I'd argue the people who strive too hard to be healthy are more unhealthy than most
4 ) AIDS can happen to you whether you are a heterosexual or homosexual
5 ) You said before contracting aids from homosexual encounters that they would get married, I would argue that getting married greatly diminishes your chances of contracting AIDS
6 ) Unless you are from Vermont, your less likely to be paying Vermont medical bills than you are if they didn't have this bill and you had health insurance from a national health insurance company as Vermont health care plan will come from Vermont's budget (which currently their budget is in surplus)
7 ) sounds like you have fantasies of having a homosexual encounter with ben and jerry's ice cream and pouring maple syrup all over your lover
8 ) Ben and Jerry's can be healthy http://www.ehow.com/how_2060825_eat-healthy-ben-jerrys.html
9 ) You assume gay people are lazy and only stay home and have gay sex
10 ) Downright unamerican although you have been doing it for your entire life under the insured health care system

There, 10 reasons why your statement is flawed. Anyone else want to add on?

Sounds like a good deal to me. As long as I don't have to get gay married, sign me up.

Yeah I'm against all of this stuff but I hedge my bets by being poor so If the extreme right wing gets their way i'm happy and if the extreme left gets their way i'm better off.

I wonder if Vermont's medical includes mental health care?

What I see around here is that poor folks go to the emergency room of the local hospital where they cannot afford to pay the ER prices and the hospitals use that "loss" as a tax deduction to offset other gains.

Does that sound about right?
