Best Type of Property to Rent for Grow House?

Ok so my lease on my apartment is up in about 3 weeks. Im looking at new places to rent and i was planning on renting an apt with an extra room for growing. Seeing as i cant afford to buy a house right now( yes i know theres ways without 20% but ill have the money to buy a house in a year so shush about that plz) so i was wondering which type of property essentially has the least nosy land lord.

1. Apartment complexes with onsite management and maintenence ( this is what i currently rent in and grew in my closet without a problem. ) but maintenence is always there and could technically go in ur apt without warning because of a false noise complaint or some shit and find ur plants.

2. property thats property management company but is locally or individually owned.managed by a

3. Local owner who comes by to collect rent every month without going through realetor or property management company.

just curious about who has the best experience with what? and if any1 didnt essentially get what im asking its what kind of landlord should i look for when finding a rental house/apt to grow in.

Rental property is always going to have its risks...if you're determined to grow, and must rent...you've apparently already made a list of preferences....Good luck...

yea i know theres always a risk of landlords coming in with rentals. Im thinkin #1 is the best bet because when its big corperations like that they always give 24hr notice b4 entering and seem to be very hesitant to enter though they are always lurking around.

Im currently in but about to leave an apartment thats smaller buildings divided into fourths. I was able to have plants no problem with my realtor coming over. None of the other tenants i knew had their realtors or landlords ever stop by. It could just be the area or people but thats my experience. hope it helps

rent a house with a large secluded yard. if you find it necessary to grow in an apartment check out your stealth grows

just curious as ive only lived in option 1 and ive grown in it with a decent amount of paranoia but alas still it was mostly in my head. Was just wondering about the opinions on people who have used other options

The walls have ears, those ears have noses, and the noses have no qualms about calling the law. Go for stealth. Trust no one.

not sure how much this helps, but it is absolutely 100% illegal for a land lord to come into a house without your consent.

im not sayin that they ever do but with the apartment complex i live in now they give 24hr before entering though they only enetered twice in a year. But i just feel like you never know for sure because if u missed the notice or something then oh noes.

wut state?? i would go with number 2 (not knowing any further details). management companies are less invasive than owners (bc they dont ACTUALLY own the property)......i would try to pick a management company that has hundreds of rentals....and i would have a gurl call anonymously to ask questions and make statemets like, "do you do maintenance at the apt? how often? any yearly/monthly/weekly checks??? bc i have had problems with personal items missing, etc before wen they entered....i also am very allergic to pesticides used for fumigation, etc." stuff like that.

hope this helps...

yea it does. I was/am aiming for a management company that manages tons of properties like you said but isnt "on site" the thing is when searching for apts its hard to tell if the realetor is the manager to or if its a local landlord who u will be sending the check to. Thats why i figured i was just safer by going wit an apartment complex with onsite as i have lived in 1 like that a year and theyve always been by the books giving notices and they never entered but twice (once to check fire alarm didnt go in but the front door and once for inspection.) both times they gave notice far ahead but i figured itd be much better to find a management company that does lots and isnt onsite. but u know i think im gonna settle for the apartment complex with onsite just because its cheaper rent and less unknown since there always by the books.

oh and im in south florida (palm beach county.)

Actually if a landlord suspects anything I am sure he can come in. Some municipalities and counties will actually fine the landlord, often in extreme cases taking his property under the guise of procedes of crime. Best thing is to do your homework on this one. It's a bit iffy.
