Dont remember exactly what thread I seen the nitrogen talk in but i'm gonna look for it. But I've actually read it in a few threads that a donor with high nitrogen will actually cause cuttings to produce roots very fast!

My bad guys just went and looked in old threads and Wolverine your actually on the money. Your actually suppose to lower nitrogen and higher the carbohydrate intake of the plant by flushing the nutes out of it before you take cuttings. So I answered my own question. I dont know where the hell I figured about the nitrogen, I must have read too fast or I was baked or something Lol!!!!!!!!

Most threads/posts are meaningless because they are nothing more than popular thought not backed up with any scientific fact.

I'd go with increasing N which supports foliage production. You can't have good root production without first having good foliage production.

Thanks UB so I guess I was actually on the right track. Good to know! I already started giving them the Nitrex, so I will take some clones this weekend and I will keep you guys posted. Thanks again UB +rep for you!

I've got a couple of questions about gardening folklore UB.

Garlic: consensus is to chop the blooms so the plant puts all its energy into larger bulbs. I didn't last year and went from clove to massive softball sized mature bulbs. Didn't have to wait 2 years like everyone says. Folklore?

Tomatoes: everyone says cut off suckers. Do you even believe in the concept of a "sucker"?

I really respect your philosophy on general horticulture and probably know the answers already but I have to ask anyway.

It seems like overcoming folklore and the desire to make this stuff "magic" is most people's biggest hurdle. I know it was mine. Mayhap still be.....

Hey Ben you say to always keep your soil moist but not drenched. My point is aren't we trying to re-create nature cuz' it's the best grower. Soil outside is not constantly moist. Don't the roots need a little breather every now and then?

You want it like a moist cake.. Not too dry and not too wet for very long. Yes, nature is random and trying to weed out the weak plants.. only the strong survive. We don't want that.. we want them all to do well. So, they've found that moist, not dry, and not drenched is a perfect place for roots. Think of the cake.. it's moist but there are lots of air pockets right? Same with the soil, moist with air pockets. Roots don't dry out and still have air.

i dont like to top because the hole may get sick or bugs might infest it. so therefore LST is the best

You, as well as others, have said that you dont flush and even dont really cure (im a noob and am in NO way refuting this).

What makes the smoke "harsh" then?
Ive had bud that was smooth as velvet and you could milk it yellow and it tasted awesome.
Other bud (looked great) was harsh and some has even sparkled and fizzled when smoked.

I apologize if you answered in an earlier post im only on page 20 (eyes gettin tired) and tried using the search function :) but was unable to find out an answer to my question.

Hope this is the right place to be asking you seeing as the last post was 2 months ago... ah well.

I can only speculate that what makes a plant harsh on the palate is its cannabanoid/tars/terpenes/chemicals make up. Flushing or adding pure water just before harvest has been prescribed. I don't buy into that paradigm.

Whatcha mean Bro?? Ya don't rinse in nature. You don't rinse any other crop why would ya rinse this one? But if it makes ya feel better thats ok 2..
