sure did but kept very low key. still a lot of paranoia though. but as far as phones we used to speak in code to where it sounded like a legitimate conversation. sold a lot of 'car stereos' back in the day.

i did get popped like 10 years ago before med laws but our courthouse is very lenient for first time offenders. got off on community service. i also had no record whatsoever, worked full time, went to college part time, so it looked good for the judge. and our judge is a pretty good guy himself if you dont piss him off.

on a side note, if you're doing anything illegal, always keep some bail money handy. not many friends or relatives have a couple grand in their back pocket.

i see a lot of it as karma. be a good person, dont fuck people over, do a little for this fucked up piece of shit society we live in even though we hate it anyway. eventually the good comes to pat you on the back.
Thats acually pretty darn good advise ...

A little paranoia is good ..keeps you on your toes and not sloppy....too much could lead to stress and high blood pressure..ask yourself are you really doing that much that they would tap your phone...couple of kilos and a shit load of customers..yes...2-3 plants and you and wifey smoking...no

some ppl have shitty cell phone service
Then that equals 2 bills. I would think one would pay a little more $ to get better service.... but that's just me. I'm not trying to debate, or go off subject. Just a thought.... maybe cuz I just bongsmilie . It just makes sense to not have 2 bills when can be prevented in most cases (not talking about home offices i.e.)

your right though. no need for 2 bills. especially in these times where money can be tight. only time i can see is if you live out in the sticks and have bad reception like some of my friends. they needed a landline cause of the bad reception. but also a cell for when they went to town which is a 15-20 minute drive. although over the past few years they added antennae towers in the area and cells are much better than they used to be. internet through them still sucks though. stupid though otherwise to have a landline. im trying to talk my parents into getting rid of theirs.

Just saw this on another thread. I think it suits this thread much better.

makes no freaking sense... and its irrelevant to what this site is about.

when they tap a land line they do it right in front of your house go look at the wires
no they dont... its done remotely through the phone company. physical wire taps are a thing of the past.
if you find a 'bug' odds are its a mic for a camera and your under surveillance.
paranoia ensues now :)

im not joking though... physical wire taps are extremely rare and very expensive to install versus simply contacting ma bell with a warrant and saying provide me a 3way tap connection for this line :)

You could just keep talking about how your neighbors (assuming you don't like them) are cooking meth or making bombs and see if their door gets kicked in. Really though that shits not funny. A friend of mine had his house, car and phone bugged in an act of industrial espionage. Here's how it went down.

B had been working as a consultant for a company that was developing software which was competing for government contract which would be worth something like $500,000,000 over the next ten years. Well, his brother was in a similar line of work and they'd talk things over if one was having trouble with something. Well, B started noticing every time he'd discuss a problem with his brother (who has a rather odd approach to doing things, but they always seemed to work) that the company he was working for would magically come up the same solution. B was basically being paid for every problem he fixed, if the company fixed it first, he didn't get payed. So, he decided to come up with a bogus fix to one of the areas that they were having the most problems with. Magically, they (his employers) came up with the same fix (which really fixed nothing) and so he called a security firm to sweep his home and everything he owns. They found bugs. Lots of them. He quit and now has a lawsuit pending against the company he was working for. Funny thing is, they lost the contract anyway.

Depending on where you live, it could just be out dated wiring. If you live in a small town that is still using DSL lines from 10+ years ago, that could be your issue. Some smaller market phone/cable companies will not upgrade outdated lines until there is a serious issue...
i was thinkiing bad DSL or VOIP myself...

That's a true story, happened back around '06. He never did figure out how long they'd been listening in on him. Probably close to a year.
