Bummer. Couple weeks ago I had 7-8 seeds that I planted in rapid rooters. They were in a cell trey covered by a dome. About 24 hours later I came to check on them, and every single one was out of their holes just laying flat on the top of the rapid rooters. It was fuckin weird. Not really sure how that relates to you losing your seed, but it reminded me of it lol.
Dang, did you end up loosing any?

Happy 420 to everyone that's still following!!

Nah, just stuck em back in the rapid rooters and they all sprouted alright...I just couldn't understand how they all got out of the holes in the first place though.

I'm about 15 mins late, but Happy 420!

Hey man I just clicked to yojur thread and it took me to the beginning where you mention a veganic only soil recipe. Did you ever find one that could match the quality of what I use? Ocean forest and light warrior 5050. And check my pics I just posted.

Lol, yeah those shots look good. I'd say yes, I have one that matches the quality of a light warrior OF mix. OF isn't as hot as people think, or as people on here make it seem. I can easily make soil with a promix base, all vegan additives, hotter than a bag of OF. Quality can be a vague word, so if you meant strength or the amount of nutrition it has, yeah if I can make a mix hotter than straght OF, I'd also like to mention that we are both using bottled supplements, especially in flowering, which obscures exactly how strong the soil is.

By the time you are late in flowering pretty much any soil that is premixed will be depleted, especially one that is premixed, then mixed with soil-less (light warrior), what I am trying to do is create a mix that takes me close to the end, not unlike subcool's mix. I've had plants sitting in a not-so-optimal ( as in I can make a better one) vegan mix for a couples months in veg w/o supplementation, something I've never seen with OF.

Thanks for stopping by, I kind of went off on that, hope it was at least slightly helpful.....

ok well if i wanted a soil all veganic i could use just like i use my mix now how would you make it, what would u use as a base and what add would u put in also do u think worm castings are vegcanic like KK or should be left out of a veganic soil. personally i dont think worm castings are in any way veganic even when people talk about they were only processed through a simple stomache. the keyword is stomache. now im not in any way a stickler about my soil i just want something that performs well and ive gotten good performance out of what i use currently the only drawback is 90$ a go. would you reccomend i build a soil or just keep doin 90$ a go? if you think i should build a soil what should i use as a base and adds? drunk ramblin about to go out for the night but i really wanna know what you think?

i dont need one to take me thru harvest just a starter charge of nutes.

Get ready for some schooling. Worms don't have "stomachs", FACT. Let's make this clear from the start.

"Annelids exhibit specialization of the digestive tract. Some of these structures are the pharynx, crop, gizzard, intestine, and accessory glands." No Stomach...
Worm digestive systems:
The digestive system is partitioned into many regions, each with a certain function. The digestive system consists of the pharynx, the esophagus, the crop, the intestine and the gizzard. Food such as soil enters the earthworm’s mouth where it is swallowed by the pharynx. Then the soil passes through the esophagus, which has calciferous glands that release calcium carbonate to rid the earthworm’s body of excess calcium. After it passes through the esophagus, the food moves into the crop where it is stored and then eventually moves into the gizzard. The gizzard uses stones that the earthworm eats to grind the food completely. The food moves into the intestines as gland cells in the intestine release fluids to aid in the digestive process. The intestinal wall contains blood vessels where the digested food is absorbed and transported to the rest of the body.
I'm not saying worms are not animals. But I am saying their digestive system lacks a stomach. And their "castings" lack the concentrated levels of E Coli and other bacteria found in mammal poop (ie animals with stomachs).

That depends on how truly veganic you wanna go though, I feel that since a worm eats the soil and processes it for energy through whatever process and discards waste is poop, regardless of levels of chemicals it was still used and discarded. I wouldn't mind using worm castings since one of the bottles I use is fish emulsion. So I'm never going truly veganic just as veganic as possible. I just want a soil with myco and a 2 or 3 week charge of nutes.

I think any soil-less is a good base, and finding vegan additives is pretty straight-forward.

The whole debate about ewc has been drawn out over on the vegan organic thread; the one notion I maintain is that I would never deprive my soil of ewc.

And if you want a 2-3wk charge then get yourself a bag of kelp meal, and/or alfalfa meal. I'd get both.

Man, life has been crazy.....

The second strawberry cough I flowered hermed at the same point as the last, shit shit shit genetics. I had cut a big cola about ten days ago, yesterday I smoked a couple joints and it wasn't great smoke. I'm dropping the cough for now, and I've already tossed all the clones.

My cousin who first introduced me to the cough has been growing an amazing pheno for a few years that turns reddish purple in the right conditions, is covered in super fat resin heads, and smells amazing. This dutch passion cough smelt almost similar, yet nothing at the scale or quality as the other one. The trichs on the DP cough are tiny, and it's mild at best. I'm going to ask him to send me a clone, I would have never thought dutch passion's version would be such shit.

The light rail has been awesome, but the hood got caught on the panda film and turned which caused the feeble little claps that hold the tempered glass in place come loose. The glass plate feel on my OG Kush and knocked of like 4 or 5 colas. I'm so pissed I haven't even assessed the damage. It's whatever though, I always look at the positive aspects, like at least the glass didn't shatter.

I'm getting my SOG going and right now I'm just figuring things out. I'm starting off with bw, ck, and hb clones although I don't see the hb sticking around for long, at least not this pheno.

I also have seedlings going strong, one of each: Vanilla Kush, Pineapple Chunk, Querkle, Space Bomb, and two autos I plan on using for some guerrilla gardening.

I spent five hours yesterday fixing my mac, and I figured it out... pretty excited to have my computer back.

I'm also pretty stoked on this mix the SBC has been sitting in. I had mentioned earlier that this was the particular mix that was going to tell my how much more I need to improve it till it's ideal. I'll likely post a picture of it if anyone is interested, but the plant only got fed twice, once with a vega heavy mix, and another with a flores heavy mix. This is good news ebcause I can certainly make the mix stronger, I can add more trace minerals, some soybean meal, more soft rock phos., and possible some greensand (and there's still some more out there).

I've been running recycled soil for the last few weeks and I used up all my amendments in my veggie garden, I plan on re-uping with all my amendments and getting more promix, and possibly a couple bags of bio terra plus. I'm running a big headband in some btp, and I'll be running a bw in it as well, I also made no changes to the btp, and I like it.

So I guess we are at the roach of this thread, last update here: That sbc is 8weeks in, vegan soil mix, minimal feedings. Looks good to me. I will probably be using that mix from here on out on my personal stash(es).

Cheers everyone and thanks a lot for following, I might start a new thread a few weeks on, don't know though....

So I'm bored as shit and wanted to throw up some pics of what I'm up to right now....

I've been messing around with the waterfarms again, and since I switched to Dyna-Gro the pH is so stable that I never have to pH, just top off. In fact, I never want to see those GH nutes again...

I'm still mostly focusing on organics though. I haven't been amending soil at all, just straight pro-mix and biocanna (a few other things as well). I just cut some Qleaners that were all vegan, they were just in 1gal rootmaker pots so not too big. One tasted like berries and the other like lime, pretty amazing. Kind of reminded me of some Snowcap I once had, but better, haha. Although, they both hermed on me. Fucking sucked. I have a few more that I'm going to flower soon, so I'll be looking out for those nanners.
I've also been growing out Querkle for a while, my pheno is the SQ one, it's tastes great and the high is super racey. I love it. I'm def going to use that one to breed out a nice sativa.

BW in the waterfarm:

Organic BW:

I had done about a dozen small clones for two rounds but I think I want to have a big plant in a WF from now on, along with a bunch of clones.

The hydro plant got a bit burnt which annoys me. I went out of town this weekend and she drank up a shit ton of water, leaving the ppm quite high. I guess the rez was like that for a at least a day, when I came back it was about 20% full :wall: Lol, I don't think I've ever let the rez levels get that low... I guess I'm allowed at least one fuck up hah...
