A Change from LED to HPS- Path Worth Taking!

I decided to halt all growing after my girls got root aphids in flower they ended up finishing beautifully we used mosquito dunks and azamax soil drenches but we used lacewings as well and after inspecting the roots after they finished there were no signs of bugs. I think the lacewings got em. Most recommend the best way to get rid of them and other contaminants is to stop growing for a couple weeks and clean and sterilize the grow room.

Anyway good luck and absolutely beautiful bud shots!

no pest strips are suppost to eliminate flying bugs from the grow room or so some say but it may not be the best to use in a flowering room...up to you to decide.

thanks for stopping by and the advice extreme! stopping growing is not an option for this run but i will be moving so ill try and eliminate all bugs and PM for the plants that i plan on taking with me. ill be taking clones for the strains i want to keep and once they are rooted they will get treated weekly for eliminating anything. i find it easier to treat smaller plants since you can get around to all the leaves with sprays and they dont have as many bugs since they just rooted. the only way i got rid of my mites i had a long time ago was to stop growing. no pest strips have always been highly suggested but not if you have exhaust going into a place in which you frequently are. supposibly not good if inhaled for a long time. diametacous earth is good since it kills all soil bugs that try to cross it and still allows watering to be the same.

i use neem for soil bugs, i kinda use neem for everything with success. i just use it as a soil drench, the neem will suffocate any babies or larva in the soil, and then i also hang a fly trap in the grow room if i have fliers, this way it is getting both in one, neem does not work right away and neither do other bug killers, neem takes a few days before you really start to see decrease.

Nice LG! Plants are looking good man :-) That one looks like its riding in a convertible  It will get wind damaged (if not already) but when the rest of your room looks like that its no biggie.

thanks buddy! if your talking about the one by the fan, it does get a bit blown compared to the others but its a tower fan so it doesnt concentrate all the air right there so its not being damaged at all. the room does look pretty decent this time, finally got a good canopy and everything is fairly healthy. tried keeping the light up higher this time to stray away from the good ole albino buds haha.

dam son....thick canopy you got going,im trying to get mine like that.
Gotta finish strong haha! i wanted to make sure i vegged them enough to fill the area and didnt waste any light this go around. ill be trimming the lower portions soon enough to hopefully have a nice canopy of solid buds with little popcorn in a few weeks.

I still need to remove the mylar and give them a spray down with greencure to reduce the PM as much as i can. also need to try a neem top soil soak to see if that helps with the root aphids. i just hate removing plants once they have grown into there area so nicely, just seems they never fit back in that same haha. hope everyone is having a good week.

nice looking plants LG!

as for the neem drench it should work, i would do a follow up treatment as well, neem does not kill instantly but it does work, i would hit it once and then one more time a few weeks later

hehe my ladies get moved around allot!
haha i seen that from you last update. my area aint as large as yours so they dont fit perfectly anywhere haha.

yeah i guess i just spray the top for a good minute? the aphids are probaby throughout the coco so i guess more is better, just dont want to effect the roots and health of the plant.

i didnt spray the top layer, i mixed in neem with the water i used to water them, mixed with DM penetrator or organic dish soap a drop or 2 to help it mix with the water and not be all in one place.
i read a article on neem and about where it comes, and how its made ect... and if i remember right they water with neem on the regular to helf with bugs.
im gonna try to find the article.
neem should not effect the plant or roots unless used in large amounts

alright sounds good, how much do you use per gal when mixing? i know it comes from a neem tree and the nuts are where the oil comes from so its definetely not a chemical just wasnt sure about exposing roots to it.

i cant find the article i read about it, but i know it is safe in small amounts, i never really measured i just kind of eye balled it, but no more then 2 tsp per gallon of water,

you sound a lil skeptical maybe, if so just start with less neem at first and try it on one plant to ease to skepticism and then you can start them all once you see its fine.

well it would have to be a few plants since i dont water a gal for a single plant and every watering they need nutes. ill try it on my outdoor plants and see if theres any ill effects. im sure it will be fine since you have experience with it just need a positive boost haha. thanks for looking for me though.

haha yeah whodat i was cracking up. was looking for sunscreen and found a dead bird. been in there for awhile since it had no eyes. was perfectly preserved, almost as it was stuffed. never smelled or anything since it didnt decompose. the grow room has started flowering but same as last time, they have had all hairs receed so it willl be another week before they look like theyre in full flower mode. need to spray with some green cure, remove mylar, and trim the bottoms of each plants.

hahahaha nope i dont even hunt!! i have no idea how it got in there and how long it had been in there. im usually in my truck every couple days if not everyday and never heard or saw it. my grandpa owned the truck before me and didnt use it very often so it may have flown in and was left for a few weeks with out being opened. i also forgot that i need to take some clones from my GDP, snowcap, and DOG so it is a semi busy day. i did get some neem mixed in with my nutes yesterday so thats good for the meanwhile before i get my hands on some diametacous earth. fucking smells to the high heavens in there though.
