Speaking of roor. Another perk toeless being a glassblower is I've gotten 3 unbroken bongs and numerouse broken ones. People act like cause you got love for it your the perfect person to have it. I mentioned I was a blower and this girl dug this roor hookah out of her closet... fuckin sick! I never seen a g on g roor hookah before

Nice! That's a cool ass hookah. Even without the ROOR on it, I've never seen one like it.............. (then again, never even tried smoking one ever! its on my todo one day list)

One thing that I learned a few days ago is that ROOR was the company that started using the 14/19mm glass on glass ground joints. Granted the joints have been around forever, but ROOR was the first real one to apply it to the smoking community.......... Without them we'd still be using the rubber grommets probably. :)

looks like you got tons of space for oil in that thing still :)

yeah.... sort of... I have another like 4g of oil in my fridge... but if I fill it to the top, I will start getting oil on the outside...

with the tall dish I need to leave some space towards the top so I dont get any stray oil strands falling over the edge and onto the outside glass :)

Hey kitty, my nail in for my oil dome actually did break. Guess I got it too hot. Think u can make me a few? Here's the link to a glass nail for an 18mm bubbler:

http://aqualabtechnologies.com/alt-18-mm-replacement-glass-nail.html

It says in the description that the thickness is 5mm and it will fit all 18mm male joints.

Also, there nails are pretty pricey, I don't understand why, they loook so easy to make, but they have quartz nails that are 20$. What's the benefit of quartz? Will it not break from heat'? Cuz I may just buy one of those.

Do u work with quartz?

I'll make you 5 of them for $20, and ship em cheap postage, or 5 for $24 and ship em fast!

Quartz I can do, but would have to buy the quartz glass first. They would be exactly twice the price. :) Quartz is much more expensive, melts at a much higher temperature, and will last longer. The drawbacks is they take a *lot* longer to heat up so you better get your big butane torch ready. :) Since I have to order the actual glass for this project, it would take a few more days to get it in then make, the others are here "in stock" just have to shape it to look like your nail.

They are indeed easy to make, but they do take a few minutes each, so I think a lot of glass blowers price them high because they'd rather be spending the torch hours on other things. I can also make a few as a dimple and a few as a cup on the top so you can try out a different style and see what you like better.

The one I have is kinda like a cup n I like it. Kinda like a golf tee.

Ill do 24$ for fast shiipin with regular glass.

Thanks for explanin about the quartz, but I did buy a badass 90$ torch so I don't think heatin it would be a problem

Too much heat is how I broke this one lol.

I'll get em made first thing in the morning and shipped out in the early afternoon! They will all be cup style unless you tell me otherwise, that's the design I'm doing mostly right now. I'll check the thread tomorrow morning in case there are any changes to your request. :-)

what torch are you using for your nails kitty?
To make them, the Mirage. :)

To light my own honey oil, I use a Smith Little Torch. ( http://www.amazon.com/Smith-Little-Torch-Soldering-Welding/dp/B000T43L30 ). It's hooked in via a Wye to the main torches propane/oxygen line. By using the "#7" tip with it, I can easily do welds, marble attachments, and very fine detail work with it. If my nails crack when I light it, I just turn UP the heat and re-melt it so the cracks go away. :) :) It's plenty hot enough to melt the nail into a glass puddle if you hold it long enough.

Wood: I'm making your nails now! :)
