Led Growing Is The Way Of The Future My Friends

Those look good but I'm not trying to spend 649 at all. I know these lights are not cheap but im trying to just get something that can flower 4-6 plants in 3x3 area for at most 350-400. because it's my first time and I don't want to spend that much cash at this moment. I narrowed it down to 3 choices. The pro grow 180 from hydro hut,the blackstar 240 and htg starship 120.All three of these are around what I want to spend. If you have any site that has good lights in that price range I'll be glad to look at that.
If you can go to 400 then why not the 260 pro grow, it's 419 now. Although it's a true 170W it seems to be good and would have much better coverage than the 180

Is there a main dealer or whatever that ships the Blackstars internationally?I know if I buy it over this side of the pond it'll probably be double the price!
Gothom Hydro, they have an UK store I believe.

Thanks for the reply I think that I will do just that. I'll see if I can get the blackstar 240 or the pro grow. The pro grow I was leaning more to.
I even look into the 300 I think it is.
Maybe check GLH LEDs, that seems to be the favorite over most LED users. Mike's good people too, he's not the type to lie about wattage or crazy claims like other places. I talked to him on the phone a few times.

alibaba , you will find the LEDS that blackstar puts their label on.
A good amount LEDs are made by a Chinese company called Cidly. Probably including Blackstar.

GLH I believe are very good lights it seems but they are expensive whereas pro grow for me is as good a product with an almost identical parts list yet they are cheaper. cannabis420 has a number of grows completed under a pro grow 260W

See here man,YOU are trolling,we're having a discussion, and you're the one not participating. Care to actually bash any of the points,or just keep trying to insult me? At least some of the other guys here are actually posting some yield figures and I commend the honesty and know that mistakes do happen during grows, but as usual most of the LED users wont post anything to support any of their claims...so can you blame people for being skeptical in fairness?

Havnt bashed the lights in pages and pages, just the way the manufacturers operate and some of the apparent claims made by them. Once again, this isn't your forum and we're trying to have an objective discussion,so if you don't wanna participate then don't open this thread,go hang out in the LED Users Unite thread.
Okay, please click on my profile and read through any of my post (including several in this thread alone) and see if I'm not sharing knowledge.
I've posted multiple vids in this thread alone documenting LED grows, but again you have no idea what you're talking about.
I see you've gone back into your lull and are sucking up again, my what a predictable pattern you have, a repeat offender if you will ;)
You are one of the more stubborn asses I've met on here, because most people back down when all the other participants in the thread prove the wrong.
But not you, oh sweet god, you just shout louder (or go into a lull because you know you're wrong, but would never admit it and quietly kissing ass is so much easier for you).
"Really, who actually finished an LED grow?" The majority of the thread says "I have" (myself now included) and somebody (you) sat right the fuck down and started ass kissing again, didn't you?
I'm sorry to any growers who actually tries to learn something from this thread, most of us tried to help, but some assholes never stop shitting in the punch bowl.
I really wish the mods would have taken care of this awhile ago, but their laziness is feeding this fools stupidity and ego.

Good luck Gary, newwordicon, and the others, I'll see you around.

Yeah I think I might get the 260 but I thought the 180 was 180 true watt
No I think it is 130W, says so under the 3 plants can be grown under this lamp logo. The 260 is a true 170W. To be honest if you need to cover a 3x3 then no 180 is going to do it. You need to match the core saturation footprint to your space, forget the watts becasue none of that will matter if you cant get the space covered by the sweet spot or core footprint. Your results will not happen outside of the core like HPS will. How big the core is is always a hot debate...

How exactly was I wrong in ANYTHING Iv said? By saying most of the manufacturers way overrate their gear? It's true. That they're way over expensive? That's true. That most of the units are a shitty ripoff? That's also true.

What I did come here for was to ask questions and do research, maybe I corrected some incorrect assertions along the way,but the one thing I didn't do was bash the LEDs themselves.

When people started actually posting some stats I changed my position, but that's because up until then nobody actually gave straight answers, just insults and the same crap I can read on a LED website.

Sorry,I didn't realise it was such a polarised topic that I had to "pick a side" and "stick with it".

If you dont like the content of the thread then just go read a different one, there's even an LED club you can go to,but at the moment you're just trolling and flaming and in fairness noone forced you to click this topic.

So now YOU are being the one disruptive to the conversation,I was actually starting to get some really good info (I believe honest too) until you turned up again offering basically nothing of substance.

I'm getting 0.7 grams per actual (flowering) watt. That's just me though, some people get less, some get more. I think it's safe to say you can pull 1/4 LB+ from 180 actual watts.

The thing is I will only be running 4 plants so I'm sure the 180 or 260 can do and at least produce 28 grams a
plant or am i wrong?
No i think you could do 4 plants and get an ounce per plant easy under a 260, 180 I don't kniow so much I would always go bigger so you have more versitility down the road.

Thing is most of the companies we deal with are reputable and tell us what we want to know, I think any of the lights mentioned here can grow well it's just picking one that covers you adequately.

I'll even retract the thing about the price, cos alot of them seem to have come WAY down even in last couple of months. Those 240w Blackstars are only $279 now...that's a big drop!

That is true, since I started looking some 12 months ago the quality has increased exponentially and the prices have come down for what you get. Although someone did say the new range of blackstars tested out lower than the earlier ones, a result of the driver not pushing so hard increasing longevity perhaps as more of a priority. I suspect this move means that earlier blackstars may burn out sooner than claimed. this may have been reflected in their testing units by now. BUT this is just an extrapolative assumption...

I wonder which model (newer/older) Gary uses,I still can't get over that yield off 266w of LEDs,it's pretty tasty and I'd like some!

Pretty sure the HPS/LED combo grow will go ahead now, maybe after this next run...need to spend my money on a second tent for more plants first.

Cheers for helping out despite previous disagreements/misinterpretations/whatever man. Actually pretty psyched about it now!

Mine are their newest ones. I got them maybe 3 months ago.

LEDs and CFL combos work really good too. Most people that have done that combo speak highly of it.

I dint know if I said this but I have 2x 400 watt hps that I don't want to use cause of heat when summer is over that's when I can use the led with a hps combo because heat will not be a issue then. But for right now I want sOmerhing that can flower 4-6 plants I was hoping the blackstar can do it but I think u will go with the pg260.

One last thing I wonder tho...alot of the websites tend to give a lumen count for the units...but with it being from many small "bulbs" how do they work this out? Cos I thought you can't add lumens together? I know for growlights the lumen output is just a general indicator of light output but just curious!

Gary, just for shits and giggle any pics of the plants under the Blackstars? The website recommends 10-14 inches for the Blackstars you have,do you use them this close or further away? Sorry for hassling you, just you really caught me off guard earlier with your yields so I'm trying to figure out how you use them.

EDIT: $660 for two of those 240w shipped...

I have pics of a close up of buds, and some harvested buds...

I will take more pics of the entire setup this time around.

These are from my first LED harvest:
