i bought a RANGER bass boat

a couple year's ago I was all about buying a Triton bass boat,,,Glad i did not,,,got laid off and would have been in "Deep Water",,,working now but just don't have the time to do much of anything anymore.
I am going to buy a boat sometime used about 18ft or so that can run Lake's, Bay's, and a little off shore. The Boat's are cheap but damn, the motor's cost more than car's! There are good deal's now cause of the economy tho.
Fishing is sooo much fun imo,,,enjoy.

just spent the last hour going over this motor. i see nothing visually wrong with it. it all looks really clean. i'm thinking maybe i just sucked something up into one of the carbs. there was a small wasps nest in the engine compartment. a good tune-up never really hurts anyways. gonna call first thing in the morning.

i watch all of these fishing shows and most of the guys on them use them.. i'm ok with them, idk, i still like my old skool spinnings.. but i do have like a $200 shimano baitcaster, i guess i just need to use it more.

There are bassmaster pros that use spinning reels. The one I have casts farther than my buddies $200+ bait-caster, with 30 lb stealth spider wire, and can haul in Salmon come salmon season! Just caught these yesterday with a couple buddies!

a baitcaster is used for a specific purpose. it gives you more CONTROL over your cast. i can put a half ounce jig in a beer cup 40 yards away. 10 times in a row.

those who bash expensive equipment simply can't afford expensive equipment.

you can grow pot in the dirt you dig out of your backyard as well. most of us don't though.

Oh, I agree with you you on that front, I'm sure you have more control with a baitcaster, well because its a "bait caster". I did spend the money on a good one pry 5 years ago and never really liked it unless I was river fishing(more casting control under branches, etc. On most the lakes I fish, the style I fish, and the lures I fish, casting length is more important to me, I don't like working the drop-offs if you know what I mean. Not to mention there is usually 2-3 other people in the boat with me so its always nice to be able to cast where everyone else can't.

i wonder if your plugs are fouled. your self mix may be running rich. take out a plug and see. could be something more complex, but i always start at the bottom and work up.

i pulled my plugs and they did look fouled. i changed them all out after the first day and it fires right up in the driveway. still won't idle on the water though.

it almost seems like a fuel pressure issue. it fires right up and idles, but slowly peters off until it dies. then it won't start again.

Rereading this quote makes me laugh, beer cup 40 yards away 10 times in a row, come on now, be reasonable. I can control my spinning reel just fine, enough to hit holes and inlets in lilypads or brush. "those who bash expensive equipment simply can't afford expensive equipment" - you know nothing about me or most ppl on here so who are you to judge, if you look at my pics^ that isn't no cheap spinning reel and I wasn't bashing anything.

i think it was me who was initially judged when i posted MY equipment. hence why i am addressing it. i find the more i pay for a rod and reel setup the better i do on the water. it's MY personal opinion and i will continue to spend my money on what i so desire.

i caught a huge turtle and a bass and bluegill today
my girl out fished me she caught 4 bass and a bream
i like the expensive equipment but when kids and girlfriend are using my gear they have to have simple gear
or i will be cleaning up fishing line all day
my girls cant cast worth shit

No, I felt it was directed to me at the time, I see that it wasn't so I'm sorry. I have nothing against you as you are a fellow fisherman and I like your gear and boat. I just prefer a spinning reel and I know I'm in the minority but quoting a wise man "it's MY personal opinion and i will continue to spend my money on what i so desire."

Oh, and as for the flippin stick did you not see the fish I posted of which I caught the majority of including the pike. Just saying man, I love fishing just like you! I'm not going into the beer cup thing, i feel its a lost cause. lol

alright then, maybe not 40 yards.

each rod and reel has it's own application. i do have a few spinning setups.

i gotta go to sleep so i can wake up and get my boat fixed.

or rooster livers that are ripe smelling
but be careful a decent size cat can bite the shit out of you
my buddy had one bite his thumb almost to the bone and he wouldnt let go he had to beat it against a rock to get it to release its hold

i buy maybe 2-3 dozen large suckers,let them all sit in a 5 gal bucket,with the top on,in the sun.
that sits for a week,or so,thats it.
works good,real strong smell/rancid...the big ones do not like to move,so you need a strong smelling bait.

we find fresh mackerel from the seafood section at the grocery store works pretty good for just about any bait feeding fish. i saw a bunch of empty mackerel packages next to some heads off twenty pounders last year. i haven't tried any out there myself yet, but when i do i should probably let it rot a little.

catfish will eat just about anything especially if it is stinky
i have caught them on hotdogs even
but the big cats here are not as good eating as the medium size ones
trot lines work good to over night but it isnt sporting but good if u are wanting to put food on table
