that sale doesnt include a ballast if I read it correct. just a hood, socket and bulb.

you will need a nice fan to cool a 1k, I use 434. You may need less or more air movement depending on your situation

the hood is ok but you should really go bigger with that space. you want with the 8 in magnum xxxl at the minimum. id even go bigger with the hydrofarm raptor hood but thats just me. both of these hoods are designed to cover a 5x5 area and up which is 25 sq ft. and you have 24 sq ft. with the bigger hoods you can get the light closer which equals bigger yields. you should be able to get those hoods down to about 12 in without burning them and still having a big enough light footprint to blanket your canopy.

im also not a fan of cheap bulbs, the hortilux and digilux bulbs are proven winners so there is really no reason to piss into the wind is how i look at it.

is it a good deal? its fair..... is it right for your space? not imo.

so is my Sylvania for 1/4th the cost
the sylvania lumalux bulb isnt even designed for growing plants and offers very little spectrum. its designed to last a long time lighting up parking lots. the hortilux and digilux are designed to have enhanced spectrums specifically for growing. not to mention the lumalux is only 130k lumens while the digi is 150k and the eye is 140k. spectrum aside, that extra 10k lumens a day adds up quickly.

not trying to be a dick, but those lumalux bulbs suck ass.

no no, your not being a dick.

My buds look amazing under that bulb though.

I have been considering buying the hort eye super hps. just so pricey.

Here is a perfect setup for your space for 4-6 plants... is air cooled and I light the company and their products, know quite a few using their lights and really like them.

Then use my $30 inline fan to really move some air in there :)
Thank you for the link. I def want to use your inline fan setup, suuper dope and effective.

Whats the difference between the link you posted and this guy:

Is it the quality of the bulbs? On the ebay one I have a choice of what hood I want.. Which one would be better to broadcast light over a horizontal range?

Thanks again guys skeeee woop
