*THC/CBD degrade to CBN.. i think.. im stoned... not sure... cheersYou know those "trichomes" I know when its clear the THC is at its peak. But what about CBD? Does it degrade if I leave it to harvest later?
THC degrades to CBN. CBD is genetically made by the plant. CBN is a product of degrading.*THC/CBD degrade to CBN.. i think.. im stoned... not sure... cheers
---and yes, there is a window of harvest time before your buddz degrade..
*and there you have itTHC degrades to CBN. CBD is genetically made by the plant. CBN is a product of degrading.
*Hi'gh. could you point me in the right direction of the data about CBD turning into THC when it degradesMr.Grønn;6295583 said:Nobody answered his/her question.
THC will degrade into CBN, as we all know. CBN is not produced by the plant directly, and is not something we want much of.
But you asked, what about CBD?
I'm sorry to say, but CBD-levels also degrade (I'm guessing you want as much CDB as possible for medical purposes?).
Good news is that even if CBD also degrades, at least it turns into THC first (not CBN).
If you wait long enough, I guess most of the CBD will be gone (->THC->CBN).
At least, this is my understandig.
yea Im going to google it now.*Hi'gh. could you point me in the right direction of the data about CBD turning into THC when it degrades

" Cannabinoid production starts when an enzyme causes geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid to combine and form CBG. Next, CBG is independently converted to either CBD or CBC by two separate synthase enzymes. CBD is then enzymatically cyclized to THC. For the propyl homologues (THCV, CBDV and CBNV), there is a similar pathway that is based on CBGV. "

However, I'm not sure I understood my source correctly. Sounds weird, that CBD is "cyclized to THC", I don't know what that word means.
Can anyone tell us for sure what happen to CBD as it ages?
*dude.. there lies the prob.. nobody knows (for certain).. ..sighSo does it enzymatically cyclize when its chopped and drying? Or while on the living plant?

"CBD is then enzymatically cyclized to THC"...
---my Q would be which "enzyme(s)".. and to what extent do they mean "enzymatically".. :\ ?
