Does CBD amounts degrade as resin glands turn brown?

You know those "trichomes" I know when its clear the THC is at its peak. But what about CBD? Does it degrade if I leave it to harvest later?

*THC/CBD degrade to CBN.. i think.. im stoned... not sure... cheers

---and yes, there is a window of harvest time before your buddz degrade.. :o

THC degrades to CBN. CBD is genetically made by the plant. CBN is a product of degrading.

Nobody answered his/her question.

THC will degrade into CBN, as we all know. CBN is not produced by the plant directly, and is not something we want much of.

But you asked, what about CBD?
I'm sorry to say, but CBD-levels also degrade (I'm guessing you want as much CDB as possible for medical purposes?).

Good news is that even if CBD also degrades, at least it turns into THC first (not CBN).

If you wait long enough, I guess most of the CBD will be gone (->THC->CBN).

At least, this is my understandig.

*Hi'gh. could you point me in the right direction of the data about CBD turning into THC when it degrades :)

From Wikipedia:
" Cannabinoid production starts when an enzyme causes geranyl pyrophosphate and olivetolic acid to combine and form CBG. Next, CBG is independently converted to either CBD or CBC by two separate synthase enzymes. CBD is then enzymatically cyclized to THC. For the propyl homologues (THCV, CBDV and CBNV), there is a similar pathway that is based on CBGV. "

However, I'm not sure I understood my source correctly. Sounds weird, that CBD is "cyclized to THC", I don't know what that word means.

Can anyone tell us for sure what happen to CBD as it ages?

"CBD is then enzymatically cyclized to THC"...

---my Q would be which "
enzyme(s)".. and to what extent do they mean "enzymatically".. :\ ?

CBD and THC have a common precursor molecule (CBG i think), depending upon which enzyme acts on it, it will turn either into CBD or THC. So if you wished to increase the CBD content you would have to alter the enzymatic ratio in favor of CBD and vice versa, however how to accomplish this unknown to me.
