Rubbermaid Confidential Cheese Grow of Doom III

It's time for another ride since my last one did not go so well and currently sitting in limbo. This time things are changing up a bit. Same red rubbermaid tubs, but not an auto strain. This time its Reserva Privada (DNA Genetics) Confidential Cheese, already feminized and ready to go. And now for the logistics:

Strain: Reserva Privada (DNA Genetics) Confidential Cheese
Containment: Two 30 Gallon Rubbermaid Tubs w/Uhaul box on standby
Soil: Fox Farms Ocean Forest
Lights Veg: Four 26W 6500K CFL's
Lights Flower: Six 26W 2700K CFL's
Veg Time: 3 Weeks
Flower Time: 8 - 12 Weeks
Water: 4-Day Filtered Tap
Nutes: Fox Farm Grow Big & Tiger Bloom
Planted: 9/10/11
Germinated: 9/13/11

Sounds like a plan...i would add myco fungi ust for root development...other than that u should be set....also i use sunblaze t5 bulbs...they kick cfl ass,but are a little more...ust a suggestion

what is the plan for lighting in the future? just curious..

Hmmm, I'll have to look into this myco fungi, and see if it's something I can just toss in there or if I have to work it into the soil as it may be too late for that. Yeah I don't have enough space for t5's haha, but thanks.

Not a lot to report. Moisture good, temps at 76-80 and baby Cheesey Poof is lookin' good.

what process did you use to get the seed started? I have my warm papertowell in a ziplock bag method, but I had some pinnaple express seeds and would like to try some other techniques.

Not sure what you mean by flip her? I'm going to LST her down after her 5th node and just try to "bush" her out before she shoots straight up in flower.

Most basic method of all really. Party cup full of FFOF soaked with water, stick my index finger in the center to the first knuckle, drop the seed in, make sure it's on it's side to prevent any upside down sprouting, cover. Put a zip lock bag over the top of the cup to keep the moisture in and set that between 4 CFL's. Let the lights run 24/7, temps were bout 80-84, and in 2 days she popped up. By the 3rd her cotyledons are opening.

Oh, I use it as my main growing medium/soil, so I just use it for seed germination as well. I found out the hard way with my last grow that some seeds are a little sensitive so starting off in a seed starter mix may be better.

Cheesey poof, she keeps on keepin' on. Moisture good, temps still in the 77-81 range, kicked the fan on her today to give her a small vibration to start making her stronger.

Cheesey Poof is a week old today. Not a lot to say other than she's growing like a weed, pun intended. Moisture is drying up, heat has picked up a bit due to the drier moisture, and everything seems to be going good.

The bigger the rubbermaid, the more room to grow. Lining the inside with something white like Panda Film is going to be more beneficial then something reflecting like Mylar. Although Mylar will work, white bounces lumen's better. Do not use any kind of foil, as it can refract light in a way that could harm your plant and raise temps considerably.

Cut out your intake hole the same size as your exhaust, make sure it's on the bottom of your bottom rubbermaid if you're using two or the bottom of your setup if you're using one. Your exhaust should be at the top, opposite side of your intake.

Setting up your lights is personal preference: I personally have a power strip on top of the rubbermaid with 3 holes cut out for light bulb plugs to screw my dual-sockets into. I've seen other setups with power strips inside mounted on the side of the walls of the rubbermaid, others with lamps inside, and so on and so forth.

Heat will be a contributing factor after everything is setup, especially if you store your rubbermaid in a enclosed space like a closet which will keep your setup even warmer. Be sure to take temps inside your rubbermaid setup before putting your plants in to see what your temps are with no moving air and with. With an ambient temperature of 74 F, 4 26W CFL's can heat up a dual 30 gallon setup with no moving air up to 84-86 F. 6 26W CFL's can heat up the same setup up in excess to 91 F.

Everyone has their own way of setting up their own rubbermaid setups, this is just how I have mine setup. If you have any other questions feel free to ask as this is what I came up with off the top of my head.

thanks for the tips bro, panda film huh? got a roll of mylar but i suppose i'll save it for something later on...order that online or can i find it at home depot? stealth isn't really an issue so i'm not confined to a closet or anything but i'm concerned about the temps, i rarely set my a/c below 80 because that's just comfortable for me..you think four pc fans, two for intake and two for exhaust would be too much for a rubbermaid? just ordered a 6 pack of 45w 6500k, will those heat up anymore than the 26w bulbs i'm using now?

edit: bought a roll of panda film off ebay for $30 not too bad, about to head up to home depot and grab a couple 54 gallon rubbermaids, couple power strips and those plug in socket adapters, will definitely be checking back in on your grow, appreciate the knowledge.
