Like the title says...why not MG soil? I'm on my first griw, and am having a wonderful experience. I just have to do a little maintence, and keep an eye on her, and she responds great...so, why NOT MG soil?...no noots needed, as of now...just water ( Ph) and tkc...along with a lil molasses...:?:

people dont like it becoz they tend to burn there plants.imo this is usually down to laziness or just not payin attention and they end up giving the plants liquid nutes that they just dont need.. ive used mg in maybe 10 grows over the last 3 years and never had any problems. although i dont use it for seedling, my plants are usually 2 to 3 weeks old before they go into the mg.

Cool...I'm not sure I LOVE it, but I am interested in trying some FF noots...or biobixx noots...will this be negative to use in collabo with mg?

The only qualm i've had with MG soil is that it has the nutes in it already and i was using it indoor on a 3 month cycle. Made it impossible to flush. i have used MG nutes in regular soil with good results though.

miracle grow soil is fine.
Maybe add some perlite to keep things a bit looser, help with drainage.

Just know that miracle grow already has nutrients in there, so you dont need to add ferts at first.
Once your plants have been in it like a month or so, you can start light feeding.
But as long as your babies are nice and green, you probably dont need to add many nutes.

The molasses is good for micros in your soil, so you can keep adding it, but go light. (~1 tsp/gal or maybe even less)

Cool do you know how many cu ft fill a 5 gall pot? ...also, would it cause more harm to feed FF tiger bloom, and other FF noots in flowering with mg soil? If not, how do you suggest I admin the noots? 1/8 1/4 1/5 strength? ( remember, mg soil)

There was a recent thread of a similar topic HERE.

But my experience with MG was fine. I've used 4 of the different MG soils, and the best experience I've had was with the Organic Mix they sell. So much so that I still start all my seedlings out in a half inch layer of MG organic I put on top of the FF I use. It is very gentle. The other MG Soils I think I remember them being much harsher than the organic.

As I said in the other thread, I think its a matter of how serious you want to be about it. But I've grown really nice plants in MG soil, and imo, if one can't grow a fine plant in MG, then simply changing soil probably isn't the answer.

Also, where I am the small bags of MG that I can usually get are more expensive than one of the big bags of FF Soil I get from a grow shop local to me.

I've bought the 6 pack from amazon.

try like, 1 TSP per gallon of grow big and big bud.
and adjust strength according to plant response.
This isn't really an exact science. Start with a small amount of nutrients, see your plants respond, and go from there.

1tsp/gallon of grow and bigbud should be a good place to start, though.
