Your telling me that fresh soil with water gave you a run off at 5.1?? If this is so you definatly got problems, what soil is that??just repotted my 3 plants and then waterd them wiv 6.5 ph and added a pinch of epson salts to help out some probs tested the run off and it was 5.1, headaches nowt but headaches, lol, why wud this be and how do i prevent it ?
i am using soil from local hydro store its a top mix gold lable popular in uk, i repotted them and waterd and the ph come out at 5.1 and the same today wen repottin the last one, so i guess i will av to run ph 7 through on next water, thanx manYour telling me that fresh soil with water gave you a run off at 5.1?? My fresh potting and seedling soil gives me a runoff of 6.3 which is basically its pH before adding ferts. Peace
yeah nice link there man, i av done the test mix a bit of soil wiv water n ph that instead of run off as the run off can just b a load of nutes giving a rong readin,,, cheers manhow are the plants looking? Soil runoff tests are not accurate~
here's a link to what fox farm says about it~

also man it wudb nice if u had a remedy rarther than just say if thats the reading i am fucked,, hardly inspiring answer, but dont get me rong if this is the case then i dont mind hearing the truth just wud like to no the cause rarther than bein told im'e fucked if u dig wat am sayin,, but thanx for the reply all the same man i do appreciate ityour telling me that fresh soil with water gave you a run off at 5.1?? shud of sed i added some epson salts and then regulated the ph to 6.5 then waterd and it come out at 5.1, though i am doin a soil water test at the min, according to foxfarm this will give u a more accurate reading !! Gold label top mix, definatly not gold label coco?i am using soil from local hydro store its a top mix gold lable popular in uk, i repotted them and waterd and the ph come out at 5.1 and the same today wen repottin the last one, so i guess i will av to run ph 7 through on next water, thanx man
Why so much epsom salts dude, id not bother unless you got a ppm meter and can ppm your water to between 30/40 ppm mag/epsom salts. If you knew calcium levels were at about 100ppm then this would futher be cool. Overall with the water and ferts and lime in the soil we aim to hit a cal/mag ratio of 3:1 on average with the previous cal/mag ppm's.shud of sed i added some epson salts and then regulated the ph to 6.5 then waterd and it come out at 5.1, though i am doin a soil water test at the min, according to foxfarm this will give u a more accurate reading !! hi thanx for the input, wen ur new to the game its a handfull so thanx for any feed back, ive just put 4 pics up in the plant problems section listed ( is this nute burn ? ) maybe u cud av a look,, i grew in the soil last grow my first attempt andgot good results but did get yellowing of leaves then also but this is probly my fault, just dont no how to sussit without a ppm wand i will buy one eventualy wen i av the pennies but for now i av to guess an ask u guys,, i av one pine aplle chunk in there n she aint got the yellow tips n yellow leaves like the 3 WW, like ive sed in my post in the sicky section i av leaf tip burn yellowing of bottom leaves and new growth as shown yellow tips from the begining but not on the P.C she looks well, thing is i amone wekk into 12/12 just repotted them i av theese probs, ive allready added the E.S so cant take that back, wivout a ppm meter im'e stuffed to a degree, oh by the way done a soil mixed wiv water according to foxfarm soils it gives u a more accurate reading of ur soil, andit come out at 6.2 ph so isupose its a big dif between the 5.1 i got from the water run off, so asuming it is 6.2 ph what shud i do nextno feed ? just water ? and ph it to 6.5? see how it goes, but remember i am one week into flower now. cheers for ur input man !pH5.1 in soil dose mean your screwed, what else can i say!
Gold label top mix, definatly not gold label coco?

Probably dont screw with cal/mag unless your sure you need one or the other and even then buying a bottle of either canna monno mag or cal for seperate supplementation or just the liquid cal/mag supplement most other fert companies sell is best recomended. Up the cal or mag levels too much and you'll lock the other out.
Your soil (if its definatly not the coco version) is more than pH buffered and limed (which is also adding cal/mag to the plants also) so i would just stop checking its pH. Maybe its a bit strong in ferts giving it a lower than usual pH but other than that i would just lightly flush and never check pH again. Any futher problems would cause me to change my soil company but i see no peoblem with this one.
Have you tried just adding plain water for two or three weeks and seen if you get good growth yet? Epsom salts would be the last thing id be adding to a limed organic soil with guano and other such things
Just for asking you have described bad runoff pH but has the plant itself got any problems from being in this soil yet or is it not to bothered and growing fine?
I cannot tell you what the problem is with perfectly normal marijuana grade soil, probably isnt one, recalibrate your meter or just dont check it again and grow on. Ive told you what cal/mag levels for weed are, ive seen your soils fine for growing weed and talked a little about why you would need epsom salts and why id just not bother with runoff readings for a while till ive simply potted up a plant and given it straight water for three weeks to see if there actually was a problem in the first place.
Peace
Gave you a remedy. Dolomite lime, or calcitic (Garden, sweet) lime, or oyster shell flour, or similar.also man it wudb nice if u had a remedy rarther than just say if thats the reading i am fucked,, hardly inspiring answer, but dont get me rong if this is the case then i dont mind hearing the truth just wud like to no the cause rarther than bein told im'e fucked if u dig wat am sayin,, but thanx for the reply all the same man i do appreciate it
eh thanx for the link man to foxfarms advice on ph runoff, i did there recomended way of testing n it give me a reading of 6.2 so a hell better than 5.1, lol, again thanx man,, gr8 site wen recieving tips like thisHow are the plants looking? Soil runoff tests are not accurate~
