Advice on first indoor grow setup. ADVICE PLEASE!

So I'm setting up my first legitimate grow and have roughly 800 dollars to spend on a setup. Now i have limited space so I was wanting a grow cabinet / box or tent setup of possible. any advice ? would be very appreciated. My biggest concerns are just space and odor control.

DR120 Grow Tent, 600 or 1000W, 4 DWC buckets or if soil just 5 gal buckets.. 6 Inch Fans and Scrubber...Power cords

DR80 Grow Tent 400W, whatever medium you decide with 800 bucks you should be ok for essentials...lights, fans, filter, tent...etc. Hope this helps.

hit up craigslist in ur area. lots of used shit for cheap. sometimes u get randoms that tried growing for the first time then gave up after the first harvest and u get good shit for cheap. its how i got my 1000hps and my resovior and a couple flood tables. lol.
800 bucks will get u a long way if u can be patient. just make sure u have everything before starting. nutes lights grow median res and tables if u decide to go that way. write out a list of stuff u need and get the essentials first.

Try a local hydroponics shop, good to get in with them for better deals. Works for me anyways.

foxfarm is what i started out with all the good stuff but not too concentrated easy instructions how to use on any scale


gonna need pots for your pot(can get from any garden home depot w/e store i actually went to the dollar store and got 3 different sizes i got those red party cups for seedling (first 2 weeks)gallon for veg and 3 gallon for right before flower
you can also use bags whatever works for you

need a fan any desk fan will work a little bit of breeze on them strengthens the stems and does good stuff you just need one

i got some scotts topsoil 1.89 a bag you should also get some perlight and peatmoss mix s60% p20% pm20% (this isnt a real big deal) i just figured i would cover everything
i actually found all 3 at walmart

i got 3 gallons of distilled water from the grocery store for the first 2 weeks so no chemicals hurt the plants then after that i just fill the bottles up and leave them out (opened) over night so the chemicals can dissipate from them
gotta watch some plastic bottles break down over time and are not supposed to be reused bcuz they are bad. if they are bad for me they are bad for my babys

if you happen to go to walmart check the camping isle and get some emergency blankets they are mylar good reflective surface and help to keep the heat in
it gets cold here so thats what i use to keep heater costs down

EDIT: about the smell you can check ebay for ozone generators some are fairly cheap and they are made to get rid of smell and they are pretty good at it


i think i just about covered everything setup your room when you germ your seeds 3 days plant em 2 weeks transplant em water when the pot gets noticeably light spend plenty of time with your plants talk to em not really but the co2 helps just pay alot of attention and have alot of patients they study them from sprout to harvest if anything is wrong ,and you spent enough time with them you will know. the better care you take the better the reward in the end. when they have gotten big enough im sure you will have read enough on here to figure it out from there best of luck

if you find yourself going to your room 15 times a day its normal believe me but its not a bad thing

Best advice ITT! Just start off nice and slow. Don't rush ANYTHING. That was the hardest part for me and if I'm being honest, still is the hardest. Watching these plants grow is like.....well......watching plants grow.

Just make sure to get the necessities to get started. Lights, Pots, Soil/Other medium, Nutrients, and seed, and just add more and more new equipment as you can afford it. I like to add new gear as often as possible. It really helps calm the excitement while waiting for results. This hobby is no different than any other hobbies I've had in the past aside from the fact that I enjoy this hobby more than any previous hobbies I've ever taken part in. I've had fish tanks and I found myself going to the pet store to buy new fish and tank gear every single week on payday. Started doing actual lake fishing and I found myself EVERY payday, blowing money at the bait shop on lures I never used, over priced rods and reels, and tons of other crap. Then I started playing a ton of Xbox Live and what do you know, spending 400 dollars a week to make sure I had every single latest accessory and game. My point about the hobbies thing is that buying the stuff that isn't really necessary is LOADS of fun and excitement, but not necessary to grow. Get the essentials now and add on whenever possible. Every time I add something to my gear, I get nice and happy and excited. Also if you are making any money after harvest, invest as much as possible back in your OP. In a year or two you will have a nice pro garden if you take it seriously.

Also, don't forget to save a bit of cash in case of emergency. It's nice to have funds when a bulb breaks, or you get a sudden pest infestation, etc. Make sure to save as much as possible for this purpose.

I guess it would also be beneficial for me to add that this is not exactly my first grow. I've done several outdoor, and helped with friends indoor grows , but I've done quite a bit of researching on indoor growing , and have done vegetation indoors but never finished flowering. But stealth isnt so much my concern as a smaller tent i can put in a closet will work as long as the smell isnt strong. Ill be doing organic growing too.

a side note corey best of luck with your grow the tent idea was good its a kit takes away from alot of shopping a few others had good ideas i like to build my rooms but thats just personal preference most key element is just have fun and enjoy yourself

Hes just recommending not to go balls out right off the bat before having the basics down. The 4x48" t5 I got on ebay was only 100$ and is good from seedling through pre-flower, after a few weeks vegging he"ll have an idea of how many/what size his girls will be for flowering and if he needs a 250/400/600/1k watt hps or whatever. just cuz someone recommends something that you're not the biggest fan of, dont bash it. Ive raised crops using several 150w hps's, a 400w and another with a 600w hps, and wont argue that HPS will destroy almost anything out there for total yield. but for a beginner ,Floro's arent a bad choice, you dont have to worry about heat stress and you'll get good light distribution for smaller grows. Chill out and let a new grower get info from lots of sources and think over his own situation, dont try to force your 2cents on others.

My recommendation is to read as much as you can, as often as you can. every question you have, type it into google with the word forum and you'll find an answer to most anything using all the different forums as well as using the masters here... Garden Knowm's a genius! be a sponge and have an open mind, realize some people arent happy unless they're rocking the boat!

If you've never fallen asleep while looking at your babies, you're not with them enough!!!!
