12-1 lighting schedule, has anyone actually tried this?

im not sure on the color .. for my hr in the middle i just use a cfl .. from what i read just 40w of incandecant light will keep them from flowering
 
you need 12 straight hours of dark to trigger the flowering hormone...................that light is unnecessary im not saying that i support this lighting schedule but if your doing that your not staying true to the schedule

sorry bro thought you meant what light was used in the 12-1 lol not flowering lol

green light is for when you look at your plants at night and dont wanna interupt the flowering cycle) a blue light you get growth during the night cycle and still flower
 
wouldnt you be defeating the low cost if you added another light .. or were you thinking like an led panel?

Scrogged jillybean clone, only pic but this one is 46-48" tall, the only one I didnt train that got gigantic. The 2 querkle clones were a taken at the same time, under the same lights and nutes but about 30" shorter and about the same diameter overall.

So far I have to say the diminishing light sch.. is working as good as can be expected.

I managed to not get a pic of the other jillybean plant from seed, the LST'd one is looking like its gonna be the best yielder aside from the scrog.

I planted these right at the end of july beginning of august, I had an issue in early veg that slowed them down a week or 2 because I over watered them which wasnt a big deal but that coupled with me being a little scared with a new nute line up and not feeding them as much as I should have. They were never unhealthy or stressed hard other than that but it was enough set them back for that week or 2 so they were vegged right around 2 - 2-1/2 months give or take, I really dont keep track of veg other than clones, I am just getting decent at keeping records for bloom....
 
my girls are in the 2 days of darkness before i chop, i will update with pics and details when theyre finished.
 
Can I veg using (.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off -.5 on-.5 off)

It would save me twelve hours of electricity.
 
The only problem I see with using that schedule is... 5 hours may not be enough to charge the plants cells for night time... And is in no way even close to nature. People all the time say 12-1 iswnt close to nature, but the only item not close to nature is the 1 on and this is done ONLY to trick the plant into thinking its veg time and not flowering.

Your 5-5-5-5-5-5-5 etc... could easily shock the plants.

It was ".5" in each increment. Adding up to 24 hours total, and would it work with autos? :)
 
May I suggest candles? Perhaps Pine Tree to hide the smell? You could space 12 around your plants and would provide some heat on those cold winter nights. ;)

Blowing them out and relighting them every 5 hours might be a hassle, but what the hell. Saves on electricity!
 
I am gonna have to jump on Uncle Bens Band wagon here... Believe me I am a 12-1 believer as I have seen its results with my own eyes, but people are constantly trying to create another light scheme here or there.... if you understand 12-1 and its benefits then use it, if you are unsure of lighting schedule run a 18/6 or better schedule and be done for vegging. No reason to take wild guesses at what might work, or what will save an extra hour of light bill etc... Run the schedule you know works for your setup.

I run 12-1 for veg and 11/13 for flowering, because I know they work, from experienced growers.
