We've gone into this in another the thread, but depends where you go. I've met well-spoken Americans that sound almost English. But that's plain talk. I'd say I speak plainly, but there are some SUPER DISTINCTIVE crazy and barely intelligible regional accents over here. Try talking to someone from Liverpool or Dorset and I think most people are like LOLWUT?

I can understand redneck, seeing as I was raised amongst them.

Or, you know...I can talk at 'em, as'n I were raised wid 'em.
 
What an imaginative bunch of people to invent so many different dialects for such a short encompassing area.

Maybe boredom played a role in it.
 
That and probably due to getting invaded pilaged raped and burned by every country across the sea. English history at school is pretty much 1 battle followed by war by another battle by some kings killing off some wives to a war. Our history is war. Hell, we were at war in the north of England against the Vikings when the bloody Normans invaded from France. We're a mixed up bunch.
 
I like fried fish but fish ruins the oil for cooking anything else; Same deal with smokers too.
 
I could do with some help for the Yorkshire people lol The farmer stereotype here is a guy with a Yorkshire accent and they have some pretty weird turns of phrase and make up compound words. Like 'Summat' instead of 'something'.

Gawd i love that! I so enjoyed the "All Creatures" TV series.
"Stagnation o't' loongs."
"Any road".
"Owt" for anything, "nowt" for nothing, complete omission of direct articles "She's in house" ... etc.

jalapenos poppers...

cut some jalapenos in half and stuff with a mix of cream cheese and sharp cheddar..... the mix some flour with beer & bread crumbs for beer batter...
