I think it's going to take at least one, maybe two more elections before a candidate running on Dr. Paul's platform will be electable. Not sure who it will be, but if and when a Republican president gets elected, things won't improve because he/she is still just a big government progressive, so another Dem gets elected and things will just keep spiraling out of control. I think it really is going to take a third party candidate, not responsible to the suicidal Eco-loons or to the zealots of the religious right, to make the "radical" changes that are needed.
Unfortunately, the public is still brainwashed enough by the lies and stupification forwarded by the progressives on both sides of the aisle, that they are not ready to face the brute reality that Dr. Paul and his supporters espouse. I see one of two possibilities after we hit rock bottom, either the mass election of people like Dr. Paul that can slowly get us off this progressive death march or more likely, the public cries for someone to take charge and protect them while willingly sacrificing all their remaining freedoms for that protection. It's going to be ugly and painful either way, but the final destinations of those two paths are very different.

You have a lot more faith in the American public than I do, my friend. The average American reads at a sixth grade level and has no idea who their congressman is. They live in reality TV and in their I-Pads. They believe what ever the talking heads say on the MSM and have never been taught how to think critically. The American people as a whole will continue to vote themselves into slavery, thinking that government goodies are a way to wealth and prosperity.

I can protect myself from most reasonable threats. If I get blown up by a missile or a suicide bomber, so be it, that's how I died. People are supposed to die you know... One can't stop death and to attempt would be a waste of time and valuable resource.
I need a president to lower the deficit, downsize the government's reach of power, make laws on limiting what "They" can do, and keep me out of a Socialist society. The president of the United States should be aware of the history and traditions that have taken place on U.S. soil. Obama doesn't know shit about us and he doesn't care to know. He's not an American... The president should stand up for every class equally no matter how rich or essential they are. He shouldn't put his country through a war that they do not want to be part of. It is the president's job to work for the people, not against the people.
I don't know about you but I liked the country I lived in 4 years ago... I didn't vote for him..

It really isn't.
The fact is that most of you Ron Paul supporters have bought into a very extreme ideology without any real world examples of that ideology producing a positive result. Many Paul supporters demonstrate what can only be called blind religious devotion. It's extremely gullible as well as ignorant.
Most Obama supporters do not behave that way. Most people who will be voting for Obama in the next election won't be doing so because they are under the illusion that he is some sort of infallible figure who transcends politics, they are supporting him due to lack of better options. Yet most Ron Paul supporters I encounter act this way. If you bring up ANY thing Ron Paul has said or done the majority of people here will defend regardless of how absurd the statement/action is. Now NO ONE is perfect, especially politicians. But Ron Paul supporters refusal to admit he's made a mistake EVER in his entire life shows signs of both religious devotion and brainwashing. Generally Ron Paul supporters really do act like cult worshipers in that way.
Before throwing around all these accusations that anyone who ever disagrees with Ron Paul is brainwashed should seriously reexamine they way they see Ron Paul and how Obama supporters see Obama. I think you'll find you might be confused about who his brain washed.
