Base white paint or mylar

Both work well , obviously mylar is made for the job , so if applied correctly then i would go mylar , a glossy white paint will also reflect well and is easy cleaned, if budget was no problem , get some mylar, peace umbre

I used glossy white paint thinking it would be the best reflective (for paint) but have read many posts stating flat paint is better, which, to me, defys logic. Did you mean flat, or do you also agree that glossy is better for reflectivity?

Im guessing a Matt finish paint would be better than a gloss. Matt finish would IMHO provide a more even light spread.... I use ORCA grow film in one of my rooms, supposedly one of the most reflective, however it has a really Matt finish and kinda glows rather than shines, if that makes any sense.

I dont like to start rucks , but yes i do disagree , although not actually trying true gloss paint , i have tried , matt(flat) and vinyl silk(glossy & washable) , but these paints were emulsions , my results were much better using the vinyl silk , note this was only used in veg rooms not bloom, i use total blackout for bloom (white pvc on a roll 100% light proof)..........

It also comes to my attention that any product you buy ie. fire blankets, mylar, black and white, total blackout etc are all finished with a gloss coat.

i just go with the paint in my closet it so much easier to convert back into use for company just have to take care of one vent hole

Not ORCA film. Has a Matt finish, and is more papery than plastic(y)

and supposedly beats them all.

Ok well i have not seen this product , but in general my comment was correct.

is it pricey ? available in the Uk do you know ?

Available in UK, yes indeedy. and a little pricey, twice what the most expensive mylar costs. My experience is UMMMM a bit like the emperors new clothes, im taking it on faith because to my eye it dosent look any more reflective than White plastic film.

I think the gain is probably a very small measurment and as you say not really visible ?
Do you have a link for this Orca film ? growells ? greens ? basement lighting etc ?
jeeez its like getting blood from a stone..:)

Sorry bro... I googled the product first then found someone on ebay who sold 5Meter lengths.... Everyone else sells 10M rolls and its pricey. Ebay.co.uk was the deal..... also I remember the dude mis-spelt 'film' as 'flim' so consequently did not show up in the 'ORCA FILM' search results. LOL. ..Try 'ORCA FLIM' aswell ..LOL
