ok so here are some new pics of all 5 including the 2 traumatized seedlings that are looking much much healthier and greener than the 2 sickly looking ones that havent been traumatized

everything i have at the moment is very temporary i have new soil, new lights, new pots food etc coming on monday but i wanted to post some pics and get some opinions on their condition. the first 4 pics are of the 3 that are in the white pot 2 of which look somewhat sickly yet still green and still growing the other looks pretty healthy (i think). the last 2 are pictures of the two plants which i was sure i accidentally killed by traumatizing them twice at such an early stage in their life but they seem to be doing very well the stems are very sturdy and they are a much much darker green than the other 3 in the other pot.. at the moment both pots have two different kinds of unknown soil.. though the soil in the orange pot looks much much nicer and is very fluffy and im assuming thats why those two seedlings are doing much better than the other 3.. but any opinions concerns or questions would be helpful and very appreciated. Thanks RIU and happy new year!

Ok guys 3 of my current seedlings are growing fine 2 of them are still very drooping though one is doing worse than the other.. the cotyledons are almost all the way gone and used up but now one of the main leaves is starting to develope black/purple ish spots on the edges... for some reason this one plants used up its cotyledons WAY!!!! faster than the other 4 seedlings all of the other cotyledons on all the other seedlings are still a nice green color and the plants look overall healthier so something is definitely wrong with 2 of my 5 seedlings one is the worst i have included some pictures

anyone have any ideas? ive looked at the diagnosing threads etc but have found no real conclusion as to whats wrong with this seedling..

i feel like the discolored one will be dying :-( and the other doesnt seem far behind it.. here are a few pictures of the other two which are the ones i traumatized pretty much when they first sprouted and yet they seem much more healthy than the others. they are shorter fatter and greener

i wish i could get some advice... all of these seedlings are almost 2 weeks old and they definitely have stunted growth.... the pot with 3 seedlings in it has some shitty shitty soil and im assuming thats why they are getting screwed.. the pot with the two healthier seedlings has much nicer soil and i believe has nutes already in it and the seedlings seem to love it.... PLEASE!!!! some advice lol

these are the healthiest of the 5 plants
the first 2 pics are of the healthier seedling that is in the same pot as the two unhealthy drooping discolored seedlings.the only thing i notice about this seedling is the new set of leaves growing are pointing almost straight up and it the whole seedling is a very light green color..the last two pics are of the two seedlings i traumatized at birth and put in a separate pot with better soil(still unknown) but they seem to be doing much better....they have very short stocky stems and are much darker green than the other 3..

You seem to have already identified your problem. The Soil. Other than Air, soil is the most important. If you skimp on the quality of soil you'll be coming back a lot asking whats up with your plant..... I suggest reading more about what constitutes GOOD soil. Your trying to grow cannabis and not nettles so some research into a healthy soil will pay dividens later.

Some of that soil looks like you pulled it up from the roadside. Too much crap in it, pebbles, bark and god knows what. You need more 'humus' material in there, aswell as aeration/drainage material

Good luck

EDIT: Just looked at your soil and plants again. Usually young seedlings can survive a good couple of weeks before you feed due to the Nitrogen in the soil already. Your soil is very low in the N, hense yellowing leaves. Repot immediately else your plants will not survive another week.

I agree with ^^^ the biggest issue you are having is the 'mystery soil'. You have no way of knowing what is in it, when to feed, how much watering to do etc. If you want them to survive and I am sure you do. Get some decent soil and a good 3 part nute system. Even if it is MG, at least you will gain some control over what it gets and when.

congradulations? they look good but i dont see how those pics or your set up could help me lol :P
sorry for not having any advice this is my first grow and it is hydro, I know nothing about soil but I think you seedlings look fine and will get stronger the more they grow. My AK47 took forever to get going but once she did it was on.

the breeder is lowlife and it was a freebie but is doing very well.
They must be lowlife to steal the 'AK47' name for a ruderalis hybrid. Im sure its very good but surely lts completely different genetics from the original. Sorry, don't mean to rant.

Thanks for the info.

ok so first off i have 3 26w cfls 1 6500k and 2 2700k... these are temporary i have a 250w HPS im about to hook up very soon... i have watched all of jorge cervantes grow videos from start to finish... i know my soil is my main issue.. which will only be a problem for a short while longer because i have available to me as much fox farm soil as i want including ocean forest happy frog and light warrior... i also have all the nutes i will ever need available to me but i am waiting to really change anything until i get the hps and set up my new grow area in my basement once that is done i will be swapping this shit soil for fox farms soil and throwing the hps light on them... it was supposed to happen monday but there have been some delays ... i just hope it happens within the next couple of days...

does anyone have any idea as to what the black/purple spots are on that one leaf?

i also noticed today when i went to go water them that there was a little flying bug in the white pot very small.. black with clear wings not sure if its a gnat or what but i am almost certain it came in with the shitty soil... when i move everything downstairs and set everything up and transplant into paper pots with the fresh soil....what should i do to make sure i can get rid of these bugs? ive only seen one and i know i absolutely need to change things up and soon as much info as possible is very helpful thanks guys

boy i wish i had some weed to smoke :bigjoint:

ok so i got a new spot set up ... not completely i need to finish it .. and i transplanted 2 of the seedlings from the white pot to a 3 gallon paper pot with FF OF,HF & LW i left the 2 alone in the orange pot with the (unknown soil) i will wait to transplant those to see how the other two take hold in their new home

i have the HPS set up and here is how it looks at the momentnew setup 2.jpgnew setup 3.jpgnew setup 4.jpg as you can tell the fox farms soil looks 10000x better than the "unknown" soil.. i know i need to either cover the plywood or paint it.. i have lots of white paint so ill probably just paint it... any suggestions that anyone can suggest? i have black/white plastic covering the door which you cant see cause i had it open for the pictures i do not currently have a ventilation, intake/exhuast system set up yet so how it is right now is very temporary.. and unfortunately the light only raises to about 4 1/2 feet so that doesnt leave me with much room to grow tall ill have to do some training/topping
