And how many days after germination did you start to notice the burn?

Was it a typical burn... starting at the tip of the leaf?

On the bubblicious about two weeks after germination the yellow started at the end of the leaf w/ a couple small dots in the middle.
Others after transplanting just kinda turned clear and sort of melted above the surface. Now my 1 White Rhino is getting curled leaves w/ a touch of yellow at the tips. So I changed the soil for her too. There were a lot of other factors involved too that I'm sure contributed.
I mostly started this thread just to let others know about the nutes in the soil.

I have used MG Moisture Control for 3 years..but I mix 1 part MG, 1 part peat moss and 1 part pearlite. After I transplant to 3 gallon and change to 12/12 I also use Shultz 10-15-10 liquid fertilizer every other watering. Never had a problem with burning. I average about 1.5 oz per plant. I was wondering if it would still work if it was mixed, thanks it sounds like a good ratio.
I plant to still use the MG (I have two bags) in my outdoor mix and plan to use coco coir or at least spagnum peat moss, MG, and Perlite.

Yes once the plants are old enough MG soil can be great for outdoors.

There must have been some other issue. Did you use other nutes as well?

MG organic choice roasted my seedlings....completely. So did moisture control. They BOTH have fertilizers in them. The Organic choice has these grey mushy clumps in it and that is the fertilizer.....they thought they were beign sneaky but I found it hahaha

As I understand it the high nitrogen in it should be good for the veg cycle, but I'll still mix it Peat & Perlite & MGmc & Rich Wisconsin Dirt.

Honestly I did no other feeding because I knew the soil was already hot enough. Maybe it was the strains but It literally fried them.

I use moisture control and have never ever had an issue. You guys who burned plants Im gonna say you never phed the water or added other nutes. Absolutly no nutes til well into flower and you must use ph 6.8 water to control the soil ph.If you dont ph the water then your just guessing at growing. Burning happens when new growers dont really know what they are doing and just use water no idea of the ph or its ppm count..I use only moisture control soil for years and love it. The other MG soils suck like the organic or african violet or seedling starter and dont use MG nutes to grow weed..Heres a few pics of miracle grow moisture control soil grow ending.Football colas and extra heavy crystals and no nutes or burns..Fletch gets dirty 2.0 shows the whole grow

You're right Fletch, I never did PH my water, it's well water and doubt that I have anything to worry about, but it's possible.
As for adding other nutes yes I did add some fertilome 16-10-11 flower grower fertilizer and I'm sure that is what killed the one plant.
At the time I didn't know better or that the soil had fertilizer in it or I never would have added anything to it and know now I didn't need it anyway.
The other seedlings, I don't know but I think they didn't like me. lol
But I'm stubborn and don't give up easily so I'm still trying and hopefully I'll find something that works. I'm also a poor white boy but I have 10 acres of land to play with.

I use Miracle Grow Moisture Control and I've had VERY few problems.

The trick with seedlings is that you have to flush the soil with water before you put seedlings in it. Most soils that come with nutes are too "hot" for babies; a good flush will fix this.

Also, if you get some gardening Lime (it's pulverized Lime that you can buy at Lowes for just 3 or 4 dollars) This will "buffer" the soil so that it isn't so sensitive to PH levels. Add 2 TBSP to your bag of soil and adjust your PH to 7.0. That simple, really.

i'm using mg moisture control with good results the lady at the local grow store told me to use a seedling friendly soil (no chemicals) to start them so i started them in small plantable pots that allow the roots to penatrate the pot and put that in a bigger pot of mg soil seems to be workin great!

Yeah if only I had known it had the chemicals in MG soil, I may not have killed off the first batch of seedlings. Not having done enough research on the soil beforehand and just having read through a few journals that said they were using MG soil I went out and bought some MG soil.
Well I'm sure I shouldn't have transplanted from jiffy pucks to peat pots w/ MG soil to plastic cups w/perlite & peat mix and stressed them out either, oh well live and learn.
I know the 21-7-14 sounds like great ratios for veg period so I still want to use it.
I'm planning to use the MG soil in the planting spots outside, but it will be mixed w/ Perlite, Peat(Coco Coir if I can find it other than online), and topsoil(which around here is mostly sand).
I will be going out tomorrow to buy the peat and perlite at a garden shop that I found (Ihope).
