i hear yahI'm not a pro, I have to prime. To be honest, whenever I do a drywall job at home I call my brother to fix my fixes. He is just like you can almost do it in his sleep.

Lol, the only bad idea I heard was yours<><><> Leave dust on the wall? In no way will that help with anything besides having a bumpy wall.Geez there is some bad ideas in this thread. Taping/mudding is not rocket science. Like I said before 3 coats will be fine as mud shrinks. Sand it off. Peel off any paint beforehand soo there is no chips in your mud. If you have bigger holes use Fiber tape(like a netting tape). Fill it in and put the fiber tape accross. After 2 more coats you will not even notice the hole or the tape. If you have bigger holes I would suggest at least a 6 inch putty knife or a trowel.
Also lol Someone had read drop ceilings and thought someone actually dropped a ceiling. This made me lol
Lol well you have obviously never did drywall or sanded any work. The dust is soo small you would never notice for one. There is an abundance of dust and to get all of the dust off your walls before you paint is impossible. Sorry since I drywall for a living and get paid good money then my word doesnt matter I guess. I was just trying to help. You will not have a bumpy wall if you prime over a little bit of the dust. And also I wasn't trying to offend anyone by saying bad ideas. I was pretty much just trying to point out that they are not right.Lol, the only bad idea I heard was yours<><><> Leave dust on the wall? lol im guessing you pick lots of dustpaintballs out your rollers/paint brushesLol well you have obviously never did drywall or sanded any work. The dust is soo small you would never notice for one. Word up, I too was not trying to offend you. I don't do drywall for a living but have done plenty of it. Alittle dust is unavoidable but If you leave too much dust on the walls the dust is going to clump together into balls inlaid in the paint.Lol well you have obviously never did drywall or sanded any work. lol, its like we're the same person today!lol im guessing you pick lots of dustpaintballs out your rollers/paint brushes
dust will cause an annoyance and a poor stick to the wall
ive done several walls in my life and ill tell you this if i didnt do a dust wipe i would have had a heart attack at the annoyance
your a cut corner contracter
you dont lather primer onto dust not even for sake of hte paint job for sheer efficiency
for all the time you think your saving with priming over the dust and picking out dust balls that you just wipe the wall down
Its obvious you dont know what you talking aboutthe bad idea's coming from you
leaving a empty hole is DUMB the moisture during the season change cause a bubble out
you shouldnt have to sand mcuh at all if at all if your doing things right
Ok but I dont get how it bubbles outdude mesh tape alone is not a stopper i said this before and if you read before i work as a contractor
any contractor fills the hole THEN MESH TAPES
edit ps
im sure my commercial clients love that i leave bubbles in their walls
get real dude
any hole over a quarter inch needs to be filled it will either dimple or bubble out plain and simple
i'm pretty sure that was a joke. i lol'd as well.Geez there is some bad ideas in this thread. Taping/mudding is not rocket science. Like I said before 3 coats will be fine as mud shrinks.
