Pain Relief?

My mom has hip dysplasia and tried some of my medical recently. What I'm asking is if anyone knows of a gbood pain strain. I dont use for pain and actually can't see where pain relief comes from as I've never experienced it. I've been so hi I forgot that I was hurting, is that how it works for everybody? Anyway she tried my white widow and had an experience. Too high to remember she was hurting and too impaired to operate the staircase she complained later that her mind wouldn't shut off or slow down. So that's white widow for you, any strain recomendations for pain that doesn't blow a newbie's mind to pieces? She jsut wants to pass out when it hurts bad and I'd like to help her do it without vicodin or Oxy. Thanks in advance, I know I'll get good responses from my peeps on RIU.

you just found a very good batch of goods. chances are there are plenty of weaker species around you. thats probably what she needs, just something thats a lil less strong.

usally that depends on the grower. look for somethin in the 250-300 an oz range. an keep the 400 for yourself till she gets used to it then she is gonna smoke all your good shit.

One of the best pain relief strains I have found came from Jackson where you are at. It was Superbud from the market. That is really strong, but just a hit will more than do it for her. The mind racing is from the Sativa side of the White Widow. An indica will be better for that, but the first few times getting high are much more intense. With a 'weaker' indica and a little experience, she will quickly find a strain that suits her good. Good Luck

for pain relief, try Sannie's Herijuana or Mr Nice's Medicine Man. Depending on the cause of pain, Cannatonic from Resin Seeds might be effective; it is not very strong, and has a very high percentage of CBD, which has analgesic and anti-inflamatory properties.

I used to grow Master Kush, and my mother-in-law always liked that best for pain relief without getting mind numbingly stoned. She still didn't like the "high" feeling, but it wasn't as bad as the other strains I had her try. I'm looking in to making some oils and tinctures right now for this very reason. If I come up with something good I'll pass it along to you. Best of luck!

Bubba Kush,LA Confedential and Purple Monkey Balls(Deep Chunk pheno) make you numb and the edibles made from these feel like a Vicodin or better.

Word. I'll look for some clones around town here. I stay pretty low in the grass scene round here though, you just don't know....you know. I have indica dominant going now with Bubblelicious, AK-48 Northern lights and ice. widow killed her mind so I think ICe will help for now with the indica being more dominant. Thanks for all the opinions and strains by name I'll be hitting them up in turn one by one. I love the grow so I'm all about trying new flavors. seems like everyone is saying sativa=high freak out mind racing and indica is where I need to go to find her chill and relax strain. If you want to have her try some out, this is actually a great thing about dispensaries. If you go on thcfinder.com, and click on shops near you, you can usually view their own page on there, and a lot of them have a list of their in stock meds, and any of them worth their salt have all strains sent to a lab, and will show you the levels of thc and cbd's, the later of which is more pain releiving, as opposed to the thc which just fucks you up.

LOL on the Widow. Mine, which I loved, and grew for a long time, was too much for my patients lmfao. I just popped seeds of Chiesel, Critical Yumbolt, Bubba Kush, and a pack of UFO freebies from an order a while back. These are a bit higher in cbd and not so devastating, I hope!

You definitely need to try out a high cbd strain. Check out projectcbd.org for more info on strains. You don't get really ripped with these types of meds. It is the best thing I have found to help with cutting down on the less enjoyable effects to some sativa's. This is mostly brought out in folks that are new consumers or those that are a few years ahead of most cannabis consumers. I just did a review of NYCD that is 60% sativa that worked real good for me and had 10% cbd. I was relaxed and didn't really feel medicated. Just thought I would throw that out there. Good luck.

I have heard many people mention how inexperience causes paranoia and I agree completely, but anxiety from stains of medicine, especially very high in THC is very very common. There is a very very big difference between the two.
I guess what I am trying to point out is - anxiety and paranoia usually goes with inexperienced smokers OR heavy heavy usage. I am trying to deal with heavy using part. I want to know how to help with that. Not really interested in the obvious solution. lol. So I search for low-anxiety meds.

I agree with eating a good indica strain. the Medibles help me with chronic pain and I don't usually get much of a head buzz. When you flower her plants, let them go just a little longer than normal and it will increase the body high and give better pain relief and make her relax. Hope this helps.

LOL, My medicated cookies are legend for giving people "the fear" and blacking them out for a half day. I seriously need to lighten them up if I go that route. Thanks guys, things move so slow when you grow-I'm going to have to go find me an illegal, evil, only out for a buck, chunk of hell on earth OR if you voted for the law you may call them "dispensaries" to try out strains for her. Gosh those things are evil and just drug dealing houses of ill repute.....or life saving, time saving, helpful places depending doing the tough job of sticking their dick out for us; depends on how you look at it huh? I agree with the suggestions of eating it. Ingestion tends to give it more of a body buzz. Made some lollipops last year and a friend who tried one said it felt like he'd taken a vicodin. My dad, who has a chipped bone in his neck and has chronic pain, ate one and said he didn't get high but his neck stopped hurting for 2-3 hours.

I'm new here, but i've been on the aczs forums since i started mmj in may. I retired and have all the aches and pains that come with older age and an active youth. I smoke a little sativa in the end of my cigs during the day, and at night i've tried the medicables. Too strong for me. My candy maker takes my trim, my stems and now my ROOTS to make lollipops, candies and an amazing balm for pain. The balm is made from cannibis roots, no thc but an amazing amount of root alkoloids and cbd for pain relief. My patients are all my age, 60+ and we're batting 100% for loving the root balm. I've been rubbing them in my neck and shoulder for months and can now lift things (couldnt before), do things (couldn't move much), and feel again (my left side have been numb for years).

Google "root balm marijuana" and for us old folks tired of all of big pharmy meds, you'll be surprised and amazed

One thing I will say is that if you are on any pharmaceutical medications such as amitripyline, those anti-depressants can cause anxiety especially when using cannabis. So sometimes it isn't the person or the cannabis. I had literally stop using cannabis for a while for my back due to having panic attacks when I took more than 2-3 drops of a tincture. I stopped the pharma med and now I am fine. I can medicate pretty freely. I hate those dang pharma meds they had all kinds of side effects that I didn't realize until after I had stopped for a month or two. Just my experience.

High cbd strains also work to offset the high thc of some strains so if you get too high and start feeling uncomfortable then you could try medicating with a high cbd strain and it may help a bit. Just from my anecdotal experience.

I agree. When I eat my old ladies medical chocolate, I get stupid. It gives me trails and everything.

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear she's mixing mushrooms in there just to fuck with me.
