Why so hard on Jeeba ? Maybe the Doc was a dick ? I met a few . Had a Dr. at the Catholic hospital refuse to prescribe medication-penicilin cause I was homeless . He was a jerk . Another Dr. overheard him saying to me so your homeless and you think I should prescribe you something for the infection that youll only sell to buy cigarettes or booze or drugs . So I said can't you give me a shot ? He said I could but I'm not , be on your way . The other Dr. came over looked at me and asked if I wanted the shot or a script- I said shot . Got it and left . Maybe Jeeba had a biased doc who didnt like weed . They are out there , the fact that you should be off a medication in order to get it prescribed to you ? It implies that you dont need it in the first place !

I think the problem was turning up AT the doctor's office, stoned at the time as aforementioned x
WOW You cant have any marijuana if your going to use it or need it . Who thought that up ? Would that also apply to other meds as well or just mmj ? It is discrimination plain and simple . As I asked before does that not imply the use of mmj is unnecessary in the first place ? Doesnt make sense unless the weed is only for getting stoned and has no other function .

I throw this case into the Common sense bin. Regardless of your age, ones maturity is what shows when you show up to an apmt stoned. It is one thing to have red eyes, for someone to be certain that you are stoned, you must reek of MJ. Which does not look good. I smoked before going to my doc, but I also dressed & smelled nice. No one could tell even if I was pulled-over.

That doc probably makes bank, & has been offended more than once by pot heads trotting in his office smelling of dank. He was simply being professional, & trying to rub some off on you.

Maybe your right. Maybe not. but LOL! How many prescription drugs are psychotropic? Just suck it up and deal with your mistake. The only thing you did wrong is let a dick doctor believe you were flying high with the eagles when you came to do business. It's the docs fault too, don't worry too much about it

Listen, I use weed for severe anxiety, depression, joint pain, allergies and an eating disorder. My doctors know that, but If I come to present them with symptoms and talk seriously, I do not turn up high. Who literally smokes 24/7 anyway? And no sarcastic 'I'm such a pothead, I toke all day' posts, please. You do not need to be stoned for the 10 minutes or whatever spent in the doctor's office.

it's the lack of research into the physiological effects of marihuana on the body that leads doctors to be wary of patients who choose to come in high.

you fucked up and you blame the doctor for being careful... many doctors and hospitals will turn away drunks, unless it's a life threatening situation... don't blame the doctor...... since you are a 'patient' not an addict, you feel entitled? give me a break.... if you are that desperate that you need to get high BEFORE going to renew your mmj script maybe the doctor made the right call, and it may be time to take a good hard look in the mirror .....

AMAZING....

Yup. If for nothing else but his own protection he declined. He is supposed to prescribe MMJ to patients who's health issues/symptoms are relieved by pot. Not by some stoned guy who just likes being high. By law they are supposed to ONLY prescribe for health reasons.

People getting licensed and doctors who give those scrips for no good reason set back the acceptance of medical MJ. As Raw said, it's all about common sense

You should have thought about marijuana the way you would think about any other medication. If you walked into a doctor's office trashed on vicodin, and asking for more, would you expect a doctor to just write you up another prescription? Just because you've had it in the past doesn't mean a doctor should automatically assume you can be responsible with more. Especially when you've been irresponsible with what you've already had.

But the problem wasn't that he was taking the medication as prescribed, it was that he was high when he showed up at the doctor's office. Who does that? I should say, who does that and doesn't expect to be told no?

Maybe it was cause my stuffs super stinky and sticks to my clothes?I am a qualifying patient,I have a license from the state,As for my medication schedule,it has nothing to do with him.Dont get it twisted here this guy job is to sign paperwork thats it not do medical evaluations,If i wake in pain I medicate,If the pain persists I medicate.I am legal in the state and I practice the rights that so many other people and I fought for.If him or anyone else doesnt like it fuck them and fuck you.Its my right!

Well, you know, I don't know of any doctor, ever, that has given someone a prescription for marijuana and then told them it was OK to drive under the influence of it. They won't even recommend you drive after a dose of cough syrup. And even if you didn't drive yourself, when you show up somewhere so high that he feels obligated to send you away, you're making us all look bad. Like it or not, people judge smokers as a group. They won't say HE was walking around stoned. They'll say everyone who smokes just walks around stoned.

That makes no sense..if you get prescribed marijuana it means you could use it, which means its legal for him, That would almost be like smoking ciggarretes, cuz it makes you feel better, and coming in smelling like bogies. The doctor is a stuck up douche IMHO.
