Are my plants too cold? First time grower here!

So as stated in the title I'm growing for the first time and I'm worried that my plants may be too cold.

Each plant is lit with two 23W CFL's under a clamp light and I have white film hanging around all the plants.
I have them in Miracle-Gro Organic Choice potting mix and I give them tap water that has sat open for 2 days to help rid the chlorine.
I usually water around 1 liter per plant whenever they're dry a couple inches in, so every 4 or 5 days or so.
The temperature is low 60's, high 50's day and night but it gets a bit warmer with the lights on.

The two tall plants, the ones that are mostly having the problems are Sour Diesel. The smallest one is a poor strain of Purple Haze and the next smallest one is Pineapple Kush.

Not only am I worried about the leaves yellowing/turning purple but I also have much lower yields than I was expecting. I'm 7 weeks into flowering.

Do I need more light? I was hoping I would be able to grow well with just soil and water, I don't want to mess with hydro or air.

Here they are the day I switched the lights from veg to flowering:

And here they are yesterday:

the colors you see are caused by colder temps, also Phosphorus becomes hard for a plant to use at colder temps, causing what looks like a lockout.

Temps aside thats a nice job for CFL's! I would suggest getting more CFL's closer to the plant like 1 per bud site lol.... Aside from that and the temps all looks ok.

I was worried that I was growing them too tall. For the first 3/4 of their veg growth the lights were just clamped to the ceiling, so I think they stretched too much. It wasn't later that I realized to suspend them with zip ties so I can just pull the zip ties to raise them as the plants grow. Also maybe next time I won't let them grow so tall? It seems pointless if the lower half of the plant doesn't bud.

How cheap do you think I could get into a 400W HID setup for? The HID might help keep my plants warmer too. I could then use my 20 CFL's for my Veg room and the 400W HID for the flowering room.

I've seen complete kits on ebay for around $140. I have a cfl grow I just started and I will be flowering with a 400w hps. The amount of lumens lost with cfls is amazing. Cfls have to be extremely close to the plant to be effective.

yea its cold dude. if you got a fan, turn it off, or get a space heater. more light = more heat too (and you could gain a lot from more light). i used CFLs from day 1 harvest, spending the extra bucks on HPS will get you exponentially more high. and the heat is great if your temps are so low already.

Thanks! Ya that's why I have them hanging so close to the plants now on my little zip-tie setup.

Good to hear confirmation of that. I have a fan, I'll turn it off. I think I'm going with HPS for my next crop which is currently in veg.

Umm, that bag of soil isn't empty and those red cups are the cups that they were cloned in and I use them to tell which plant is which strain. I use the 2 liter bottles to carry the water in for the plants. Thank you for your great insight and help, fellow new poster.

your dumb put the plants all close to each other so they will have more lumens and they wont look so stretched out like they do

Thank you, that's actually helpful advice. I've always put them further apart because I thought that was better so they could have more light to their lower branches and not fight each other for light?

Mate, thats not the way for people to be helpful by belittling someone, your new as you stated and obviously have done some research, so the info may be good but hes a dooche for calling you an idiot.

The variance in color is caused by lower temps, nothing to be majorly concerned about, purps is pretty, lol, straight up though, if you want to yield more with denser thicker buds, increase your light wattage dramatically, even something like a 250 metal halide, its just not enough PAR for the plants to absorb and use. best of luck for the future and considering the lack of light output, under a few cfl's, mate, not a bad job at all, kudos.

Thanks man, I ordered a 400W HPS to flower my next 10 clones. Do you think I would be fine staying on CFL for veg?
Here's the grow journal I started: https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/512304-first-time-grower-cfls-soil.html
