Crossing the border with hash??

So I'm going to the US (i'm from Canada) for 4 or 5 days and can't sleep without my nightly dose of the green. Normally i'd just push through it but I have to be up every morning around 6am for work so I need my sleep. I wanted to bring about 4g of homemade hash over as it would be very small the size of a coin probably and much less smell than weed. Now I haven't been to the border driving since I was young so I have no idea how anal they are with their searches and what not. So can you suggest a good hiding place? Please don't say up my ass as that would be very uncomfortable haha

also do you think just wrapping it alot in plastic wrap is enough?


maybe i'm just being paranoid but I just know i'd be pissed if i got a criminal record for 4g of hash lol

i wud say wrap alot then spray it with pepper or something then drop it in the water container for the windscreen washer

It might be tough to get it back out of the window washer I would imagine. Do they check on your person as well? like if i hid it in my wallet or something? Or do they have dogs at the border as well that might smell it on me?

It would be wise to assume dogs. "Odor control" won't work in that case ... only total complete odor block, like canning it in metal. cn

So dogs don't only check the car but the person themselves? I was thinking of wrapping the 4g of hash in a lot of saran wrap, then a condom, then tape it next to me groin area. And maybe to be safe spray some cologne around the crotch of my pants (as well as my shirt so its not just my crotch that smells hah). That way the dog would have to smell through the cologne, my pants, my boxers, the condom and saran wrap. And thats if its sniffing me personally. Somewhat safe?

Never use masking odors ... dogs can separate the composite odor into its components, a talent most humans lack. Think of Remy tasting stuff in "Ratatouille". Plastic as an odor blocker, be it Saran, condoms or lotsa duct tape, is proven to fail often. Unless you have a way of *truly* compartmenting any odor, the "very uncomfortable" option might be your best ... cn

The only issue I thought with putting it in a container that would completely block the smell would be the x-ray. Don't they have a way of x-raying things to see if something is hidden where it shouldn't be? I was thinking of wrapping it up and then putting it in a jar of peanut butter near the bottom, but if they x-rayed and saw something in the jar it would be obvious. I've also heard of special hiding containers like a Pringles container that has a special compartment, but again I imagine they may know about those types of containers.

@Corso - if the airport makes you take your shoes off wouldn't the border patrol do this as well?

lol nah man...you stay i n your car ..unless you are acting all nervous ...you will be through that checkpoint very quick with little more than a glance ..unless you have a death grip on on the steering wheel and are sweating and not making eye contact..

I don't have much experience with crossing the border, but if you're in a car I don't imagine they X-ray you or your stuff except under unusual circumstances. Odor otoh is "public domain" to any dogs who might be there. Slurpy, you pose an interesting problem, and I'm sorry to say i don't have any bright ideas on how to do this with high safety and low effort. cn

lol well i'll be crossing the border with 3 other friends in a rental car and I won't be driving. I'm conflicted whether or not to tell them I'm bringing it. The weed would only be for me since I'm the only one that "needs" it (they smoke very little), and if they don't know about it they won't be nervous. At the same time it might be dickish of me to hide it from them :\

well you've given some great advice and im' very appreciative! It is a tough situation and I'm still debating on whether it will be hash i bring, or some edible cookies (though i hear they still smell like weed a bit) or if i should just bring some strong over the counter sleeping pills and hope they suppress withdrawls. its a dilemma! hah

Wrap it up good with seran wrap , and tie in a condom (smaller the better) cut off remaining plastic and drop it in a purple gatorade should be good

well I'm bringing 4g's cause I imagine once my friends realize I snuck it passed the border security they'd want a bit as well. If it was strictly personal I'm sure .5 a night would do me fine.
