a ballast question

'ello,

i had to replace a dig ballast that burned out or died. anyway, i went back to magnetic.

it's a 1k w compatible ballast. the problem is it has that funny electrical smell. i know they need to be broken in, but how long dose this odor go on for?
its not that bad, but it's not good.

If the smell is from the ballast itsself it shouldnt last to long. If in a veg cycle maybe 5 days constant on. They are hot loud and can have issues. Im a permanant digital ballast guy now.Quite cool and actual do save money compared to old magnetic. Just make sure you use digital bulbs or you can blow bulbs early or hurt the ballast
