my bulb is clear.I was involved in a grow op 20 yrs. ago & those guys used clear.may have been the only kind available then, dunno. They knew what they were about,I didn't(still don't),just did as I was told.I hope I haven't screwed the pooch yet again.Bulb is 16000 lumens doesn't have anything with a k behind it.Is the k for kelvin.Duh,whats a kelvin?
light spectrum

Kelvin is how light is measured.. like pounds on a scale for weight..2700k or kelvin being red/orange/yellow spectrum(some blue depending on ur bulb) hps or warm white outside -6500kelvin-blue/white spectrum - metal halide or cool white inside..

turned the lights off in my gizmo. The temp. has dropped 10 degrees, its only been an hour.Is that drastic? Will fluctuations like that stress my plants?I left the fans on too.

if you cant keep it under 100F .. forget it .. under 90F = you need to look in to sumething .. get it atlest down to 85F ...80F is best ..

I try agin ... get a out take ventilation of some kind (DIY if you like) and a passiv intake .. that will lower them temps close to them 10 degress agin depending on size on ventilation ..

or go with some T5/Clf and keep a littel fan on the plant and keep a window open a few times a day to provide some fresh air/co2 ..

tho .. once flowering it will smell .. and Im sure you wish you had a ventilation wher you could add a caron filter ..

My temp is 80 right now.It sounds like I'm a month or two away from the stink.I plan to DIY a filter for smell and fix ventilation before then.I get alot more satisfaction out of DIY.I was thinking of making one of those coolers out of a playmate and puttig another 3" fan to pull in the cool air.The in/out fans on it already are 3".you think that'll get
it?
did you try bunch of different lights and found t5 was the best?Or do you get a kickback every time you mention them?Just fuckin with ya;-).

have they got the 3w/5w bulbs in
Yes, they use 2w and 3w bulbs. "
Using custom encapsulated chipsets, we are proud to offer 2w and 3w leDs in the BlackStar product line"

I'm sure there are better brands/price. I just grabbed the one brand of LED I knew off the top of my head. I haven't done any real research into it, because frankly, I don't care right now while my current grow is going fine with CFLs.

So if I'm understanding this correctly, six hours of darkness isn't really neccesary. It seems like it just helps with the heat?

I know I'm making a habit of asking stupid questions,but...Can someone tell me how to get my photos into my album?I foolishly assumed once I posted them they would be in my profile.they're not.the process doesn't seem to work the same & I can't find a thread that focuses on all the bells & whistles of this site.

U just need a ventilation system of some sort man period.. if not you're gonna fight the heat til ur plants wither away from it. Been there done that sand I hate to see it happen. I'm not a pro by any means but u can't grow healthy plants without removing the heat from the gizmo..idk what it was meant to grow but it sure wasn't pot

Depends on who you ask. Some people say you don't need darkness others, like Uncle Ben say you do. Well he says a shift in temperature of about 10 degrees(like night and day) during the dark hours is beneficial. I think plants need some rest, it helps with the temps and it helps conserve energy. Some people say it helps stimulate root growth.

It's meant for vegatables and such. It'd be a nice rig if I could keep upstairs, but life is full of disappiontments.I'm having trouble figuring out why a tomato plant would fare better in it than one of the most heat resiliant plants. It's a weed for gods sake, whoda thunk it?

yep .. my plants look lovely to day and I keep 29-31C in ther maybe 27-28 fist few hrs and 31 last few .. runn my hPS at night ..

View attachment 2222384 View attachment 2222385

runn a 4" ventilation with carbon filter 24/7 boath for temps (get it 6-7C down at light on or I would runn +35C)

and for odour controle (realy stinky in ther now .. had the door open for 5 minuts the other day and my mom could smell it 5 minuts later when she came over)

and I also have a big Table Fan at a 45 degress angle pointet at the HPS to cool it down and blow the hot air away and up at my filter/out take ..

and also have a tower ventilation at the floor .. near the intake .. to help pull in fresh air and spred it around ..

and I also have a small cheap bathroom ventilatin with some tubeings to my intake over my window .. to pull fresh air in the my grow room .. did get temps down a few and provide fresh air/co2 ..

look at my picturs if you like got some of my newly build flowering room ..

Red shaded? Plants don't see colors like we do. All a red shade will do it block out some of the lumens lol.
