Couldn't afford the Amino Treatment at the time so I went with X Nutrients amino supplement. It's okay. Thats weird about your Ph beavr, as soon as I throw my base nutes in, I swear, sometimes that shit comes pretty damn close to 5.6 and I'm using RO water. I'm a big soil guy but wanted to try hydro so I ran a single bucket DWC using H&G and its pretty damn impressive.
I hear you on the exorbitant prices of H&G nutes but this is one of those cases of "you get what you pay for."

As for the PH I find that it really depends on how much Base A&B you are using. A&B will significantly lower your PH and most of the additives leave the PH alone except I found that Shooting Powder raises the PH slightly.

I have only done 1 run with H&G nutes but I have everything meticulously documented in a journal so I know that this is what happened in my situation, I cannot guarantee the same happens in yours but I will report back as I progress with my second grow using H&G nutes.

Good luck and keep it green.

Yeah I use R/O water too and I use a 30 gallon res and the A&B always brings my PH down to 3.2 - 3.6.. No complaints here I just add about 30ML of PH up and I get my PH to 5.8-6.0

I totally agree in " you get what you pay for" I bitch and moan during the grow because I'm having to buy so much amino treatment but at the end of my grow I couldn't be happier.

HAHA I do the same exact thing every time I need to go buy more H&G, bitch bitch bitch, then I look at the plants and quit my bitching.

As far as i'm concerned, H & G had pH perfect long before AN came out with their version. I used to test my Res every day or two to make sure it stayed in the right pH range, but now I just test once when I mix it and don't even think about it the rest of the week.

I gotta stick around this thread. I dont think I will be switching to any other nutes in the near future. I feel " dialed in " with H&G.. My only bitch is the god damn PH buffers I go through a lot of PH up. After adding A & B my PH is like 3.2 .. I should probably start to use a stronger PH up.

Anyone try the H&G coco coir? I havent only one store carries it here. I been using Canna.

Is anyone using the Amino Acid as per the nutrient chart?? I am and its fucking expensive.
In regards to pH, are you on a well? I use RO and since I moved to a place with a well, my RO is 3.7 or so and the same when I mix in A & B. what I foun is that it's dissolved CO2 gas from the limestone. If you circulate your RO tank is will gas off. If not you will add up to get it right then it will gas off and you will have to add pH down

I use canna coco, haven't seen the hg coco in stores yet

I just finished a run using AT for the first time....I think it helps...maybe bigger stalks and more resin

No, I use city water here thats filtered by my Stealth 100 R/O .. House and Garden came out with their coco coir about a year or two ago, I have only seen it in one store here in AZ, honestly Canna looks better just from a birds eye view.

So glad this is still active topic. I'm doing my third start with HG. Right now don't see ever having to use any other nutes. Found mine, lol search over.
I am getting challenged by my own challenge of growing only in coir. Some of the coir I'm running into has excessively high ec and ph readings, after first soak. I'm thinking a blending of diatomaceous http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1CHKZ_enUS436US436&biw=1092&bih=544&sa=X&ei=8UTyT5DMJ4m1qAHmnfiOAg&ved=0CFsQvwUoAQ&q=diatomaceous&spell=1earth for better control.
Hope to hear some encouragement today, shit after after Monday's fucking we just took, we all need a bit of encouragement 'ey!

You rinsing your coco coir? cheap coco coir ( usually the brick stuff) is covered in salts from the factory.

Yeah, I thank you are better off with Canna. It's buffered and ready to go. I just mix up some nutes with calmag to charge it, plant, then feed.
Same here I marinate my bags in a big trash can with R/O water and Cal/mag @ 5ml per gallon...How do you mix your canna coco coir?? With perlite? What ratio ? I put down about a layer 1-2 inches of perlite at the bottom of the pot and then 100% coco coir on top of that.

Just want to clear the air on my end. I will be starting a grow here soon while using House & Garden Soil A&B.

Their nutes are: 0.2 - 0 - 0.2 for A, and 0.1 - 0.1 - 0.3 for B.

Now if I am correct, that is for every mL. Their nute calculator suggests, for example, for every one gallon of water to use 8mL of A and 8mL of B.

Does this come out to be 1.6 - 0 - 1.6 for A and 0.8 - 0.8 - 2.4 for B for a total of 2.4 - 0.8 - 4.0?

Just trying to make sure I got this correct so I can properly use the nutrients after my soil nutes are depleted.

^ Anyone?

Reason I ask is because everyone else is using much more than that, for example I see people toting around 10-10-10 mixes, 6-2-4 mixes, etc

Should I worry, or just maintain a proper PPM level as the plant progresses?

QUESTION.... What does everybody do about root rot in coco? And should you just keep an enzyme going during flower? I know the calculator says stop in week four.
