what he said is crap, anything under 2 oz is nothing. They will arrest you but you get out the next morning and wind up doing some com service. Unless you have a long rap sheet of course. Get caught with a joint and you will be lucky for them to even give a shit. With that said we have a law on the books that says they should just write you a ticket but the da's wont do it so they can make more money. There is also a Medical bill in the works by the dem majority leader but it wont get passed. Bottom line if you fuck up you will get arrested. Act right keep shit to yourself and tell you kids to do the same and you will be fine. Five years from now weed wont mean shit here.

Just moved out of north texas, currently in Oklahoma for school. Texas is a great state, some friendly people as long as you don't mess with their shit. Its not just a joke, most people here do have guns and carry them often. If you are a beer drinker get ready cause Shiner is one of the all time greats and the pride of the lone star state.
For real one shiner usually makes my face numb on an empty stomach.

5? Try 20+. Lotta old, bible thumpin' conservative types that need to die off before it has a chance in texas.

Fuck MMJ right in the ass.

Re-legalization is the solution.
Only if it's legalization that lets you grow not this state-run store bullshit leading to corporate weed.

If you're ever in Texas (before I move west) just drop me a line happy to keep ya just bring me some of that good sativa :) Please though, don't diss the state just because there are a number of jerks here. There are jerks in every state.

As far as what's been said:

* No such thing as 'oh if it's just a little bit don't worry' -- everywhere in TX it is all down to whether the cop who busts you is cool or a dick. Odds are he's a dick and throws the book at you. Good luck getting a decent job with drug arrests on your record here. If you are in a small town sleep with your ass to the wall those pigs are out to buttfuck you for sure.
* Just like anywhere else, if you're not doing stupid shit (ie getting high in public or without care of who notices) you won't have an issue. Keep it secret. Keep it safe.
* Austin is the most liberal city for mj. Dallas has the most to do and has winter. Houston the most depraved. San Antonio the most mexican (yeah, I said it).

Horseshit.

I would spurt in my britches every time I passed a lush, green, waving field of corporate cannabis.

I would rejoice if I had the freedom to purchase a pack of corporate cannabis cigarettes at the local Quick-E-Mart.

Does the existence of Coors, Inc., prohibit the existence of smaller breweries like Spoetzl (makers of Shiner Bock), or Sammuel Adams?

Does the the existence of Budweiser, Inc. prevent home brewers from making their own beer?

We need to shed ourselves of this fear of corporations if we wish our movement to go forward.

Re-legalize it, and let the chips fall where they may.

Like I said, I don't care about corporate as long as individuals can purchase seeds off the free market and grow their own. If we have to be horsefed shit we may not want, I'm not down for it. If they legalize it and corporations use the force of law to go even harder against the few remaining independents who want to do it themselves, it could actually be worse. If you don't think it's a real scenario for the DEA to be doing corporate work of shutting down individual growers, you haven't been paying attention to what's gone on with GMA seeds already. They are buttfucking american farmers BIG TIME, and they want to do the exact same to us if we let them.

Not if you knew it was some low potency shit barely better than industrial hemp... or have you forgotten 'medical' cannabis grown by the government (aka, shitty schwag with seeds that barely even does anything) - don't understimate the government's ability to straddle us with bullshit.

The last time I checked, I can go to the nursery and purchase just about any seeds I wish. GMA seeds have no effect on me.

Corporations are not boogermen. They are in business to make money for their stockholders.

If a company invests in research & development, and can patent a genetically modified seed; it's their property.

As such, they can sell licenses for its use just like software. And if a farmer ignores or abuses that license, the corporation is fully within their rights to ass rape that farmer in the courts.

Is it possible that a company might try GMA cannabis? Absolutely.

Will it affect my ability to get my hands on Skunk #1 seeds? Not a chance.

You are all over the map, Amigo.

First it was the specter of GMA seeds and corporations putting the small time operations out of business.

Now it's crappy corporate schwag forced on unsuspecting consumers.

Why on earth would a corporation produce genetically modified schwag?

A corporation that passes off a shitty product as a premium product loses money. As such, it would be in the shareholder's best interest to ensure that the best possible product is offered.

Surely you have noticed that in a convenience store, premium cigarettes are more expensive than crappy cigarettes. Why should commercial cannabis be any different from tobacco?

Re-legalize it.

Make it just like beer. It's okay to produce it for your own consumption.

And as long as you don't sell it, the government has nothing to say about it.

So you grow all your own food? Because ifyou buy it, whether it's organic or GMA, I guarantee you the GMA is affecting your life. Even if you're not consuming it market forces affect the non-GMA food pricing. FYI I guess it's ok for the corps to rape the farmers because you can get your seeds????

I am *NOT* anti-business. I'm a libertarian. Just because you are pro-business doesn't mean some businesses don't do things that are in their own interest but not the interest of the general public.

So you are saying companies with monopolies do not ever put out an inferior product...? My concern is that one corp or a few corps will use their influence to bring the government's weight to bear on the independents. That has been seen time and time again that corps will use the government when they are able to to protect their own interests. It's going on right now with GMA foodcrop seeds.

I am not saying a company would intentionally put out an inferior product. I'm saying the government might MANDATE that they put out an inferior product, ban home growing and call that legalization.

I am all fine for making it like beer. That is not the argument. Like I said, as long as it stays legal for the homegrowers to grow and buy seeds, I'm fine with it. It's these attempts to try to limit the growers and sell it in state run stores that concern me. I'm not even saying that's what's going to happen, I'm saying that's my concern.

If your next reply includes no comprehension of my response like your previous, don't expect the conversation to continue. Geez I thought I was one of the most pro biz people here apparently there is someone who assumes businesses ONLY do good and ONLY offer superior products and the government NEVER mucks things up with regulations

No. I do not grow ALL of my own food. A good deal of it I do grow.

But, I never stated I do not consume GMA foods.

What I DID say was the existence of GMA seeds does not affect my ability to purchase conventional seeds, open-pollinated seeds, hybrid seeds, or heirloom seeds.

Kindly do try not put words in my mouth (keyboard), Junior.

I am *NOT* anti-business. I'm a libertarian. Just because you are pro-business doesn't mean some businesses don't do things that are in their own interest but not the interest of the general public.
It's okay for the corporations to ass-rape anyone who steals from them - including farmers. My seed buying ability has nothing to do with it.

Of course businesses do things in their own interest. Their interest is usually related to making a profit. You are a piss-poor excuse of a Libertarian.

Non-governmental monopolies are illegal. The corporations are protecting their property using the courts. There is nothing wrong with that.

I am not saying a company would intentionally put out an inferior product. I'm saying the government might MANDATE that they put out an inferior product, ban home growing and call that legalization.
The government can't do that with a LEGAL product, Brainiac.

Even if they tried (BIG 'if'), such an egregious blow against the Equal Protection Clause on the part of government would be dealt with in the courts and be reversed in a summary judgement.

See the 14th Amendment.

These attempts you are whining about are taking places where cannabis has not been completely re-legalized. Prohibition still applies in those states. Medical cannabis remains illegal for non-brokedicks. Trying to raise that argument is comparing apples to oranges.

You are obviously the one doing the ASSuming. Never did I state anything remotely resembling anything that even suggested "government NEVER mucks things up with regulations."

Under prohibition, we are facing the most oppressive form of government regulation.

How do you figure I have no comprehension of your response when I am offering direct rebuttals?

Frankly, I don't give a wet fart whether you respond or not.

'Stupid' must mean 'mind bogglingly brilliant' in Tard Town.

I guess you would be the authority on tard town, it's true :) What color is the sky in your world?

Sour is how I imagine your life is -- I can probably count the number of people I've had issues with on one hand in my life, so you must be one miserable sonofabitch if you're too much of a jerk for me to get along with. I imagine you do not have many friends with your attitude, so maybe I should just feel sorry for you.
