But they left me very little room to put my stuff :( i'm suppose to mark my name with a marker on the things i don't want others to eat, i just laughed and said " well it u didn't buy it don't eat it " ;) lol
I saw a commercial for a foodlocker. I little cage with a lock so your co workers don't eat your food. They can see your muffin, muffin. They just can't get to it.

Tell you what. If it gets 108 degrees again, I will come up there and clean the damned thing for you and you can blame it on me !

Just swiffer those randoms questionable places and call it clean lol, i'm not anal but i dislike food being left out, she spent the entire day in her bed :( So i'm gonna bite my tongue and just toss it for now, but she will be a mommy soon and should realize that her bad habits are unhealthy, she even still smokes :( :( Not cool, but i need to not lecture her, she is young and will do as she wants.
But i mean putting ur half eaten salad next to the sink, not even tossing the left overs is just plain lazy imo

I don't expect any thanks im more worried about offending someone, but i pay to live here and i wont put my food in a dirty fridge, i mean dried juices all over, not just onion peels and expired salad dressing, guaranted none is ceaser ;) flmao
Haha, swiffering the entire area is probably as good of an idea as I've ever heard. At least that way I'm guaranteed to clean up that shit that I can't see. I probably should have thought of that already.... bongsmilie

I can relate to knowing a pregnant woman who smokes. I used to work with two of my friends, and they happened to be husband and wife. Well she got pregnant, but she continued to smoke every break during work, throughout her entire pregnancy. It really bothered me but I never said anything to her or her husband (even though they were both pretty good friends of mine). It really was none of my business regardless of how it bothered me. And she wasn't young either, I believe she was 27, 28 years old at the time, so she should've known butter. But if she was my wife though, I would have said something.

And as for not expecting thanks for cleaning, that's cool as long as you're alright with it. Personally, I used to get kind of irritated with my roommates when I would do something like clean up a common area and not get a thank you or even an acknowledgement.

Can I just say Fucking Eeeew!

People are gonna get sick with all that filth in the kitchen. If it was me, I'd suit up in a full body suit and go to town on the place with a bottle of bleach, a bucket, and a couple bags of rags/20 rolls of paper towels. If they took offense to it, even better. Maybe they need someone to show them that they are living the disgusting, filthy life.

I'll admit, my bedroom is a disaster area as far as clutter is concerned, but my kitchen is spotless, neat, and organized.

That's an interesting question, April... Actually just two nights ago I found myself crashing at the apartment of seven 23-26 year old students (I will explain in the Cosplay thread, long story) and the second I woke up I started cleaning. I thought it was polite to do something as they'd let me stay the night (and trusted me in their home) but they kept telling me to not worry about it and made me a stack of toast. One guy in particular saw me mopping the floor (which had a few pizza stains but it wasn't THAT messy) and he said 'we apologize for the filth ^^;' at that point I did seriously worry he thought the cleaning implied I thought they were dirty people. I mean, they were Oxford students/grads and not teenagers anymore... I don't know what people consider 'acceptably' clean..

It is a worry you may offend people but maybe explain that you cleaning is just how 'you do your bit' or you're just a little OCD on those sorts of things... But it might be a lie if you are not being unreasonable and they are just very very dirty...

Hmm... Difficult :(

EDIT: omg Meta, I'm exactly the same as you! I have a habit of cleaning at friend's houses bit my friends I could count on one hand and I'm considered family so I guess I almost see the cleaning as 'required' of me. I am terrible with clutter though...

April, do not be afraid to get the permanent marker out and claim your share of food purchased

Wow thanks for the feedback everyone, i'm gonna clean the fridge today, i already cleaned the sink and counter tops.

New question, my female roomie has not yet even come out of her room, she's been up there ovr 24hrs, should i knock and see if she's ok? My female instinct says i should make her some breakfast , hmm the bathroom will b next on my list.

The place aint filthy or i would not have moved in, it's more sloppy in the hidden places, they do keep it tidy most of the time, but it's clear not a person does the weekly cleaning, fuck it i'm gonna do it if i want it spit shinned :)

I'd check on her April.. Do you suspect she's depressed? Or maybe she's just a busy or reclusive person..
No sweety she's preggo, has been sick i think, she was up and about the day i moved in, but that evening she crashed very early (saturday night) it's now Monday morning, and she's yet to step foot downstairs. Depression is something i worry about since she is a young dancer who did not plan this, her b/f is not in the picture really.

Ok off I go to my aunts to get myself a cordless drill, must install curtain rod and closet rods today, ya all me, this is my task to accomplish lol ;)

When I was pregnant I slept a full 24hrs on multiple occasions.
Ok thanks for sharing, your words put my mind at ease :) I wondered if this was normal for a pregnant lady, i've never had kids so i just don't know what she's feeling, hard to relate.

It's normal. Just think, her body is creating another human being. Her body is in overdrive, her heart is working harder, shes carrying more weight, most of her energy through food is going towards fetal growth and placental growth. Her brain and endocrine system are working harder to excrete hormones to stimulate fetal and placental growth along with readying the breasts for lactation.

That's pretty tiring.

And in the first trimester there's that whole tense immunological negotiation thing ... the body's dealing with a hostage situation and the SWAT team is sweating and motionless over the sights ... cn

I only have one kid and I'm 25. I'm getting an IUD in the next week. I don't want any more kids. I do not feel the need to procreate ever again. hahaha

I think I mentioned we need a contraception thread last week... You've already had a baby so you will be fine, but for me it was THE MOST HORRIFIC and painful experience of my entire life. Its put me off having kids if having one's vajuji and cervix fuddled with feels like that.

Well it's good to know April's roommate's behavior isn't all that uncommon but I'd still be checking if she wants company, food, help getting to the bathroom or anything like that.

As for the others it is all too common to clean up here and there but places like in the fridge, the oven, microwave, under the rim of the toilet, behind the toilet, windowframes, under furniture and around fixtures/fitting get neglected. Rubber gloves, lemon juice, vinegar and uncooked rice might prove useful x
