One of the best seemingly little known bonuses about plants that produce an occasional male flower is the pollen is short the male chomosome and the seeds it produces will be all female. More serious hermies produce the same result, but the offspring carry the same disposition for widespread male flowers. As some know, this is how feminized seeds were developed, that some complain about carrying too much hermie traits in the plants. It is possible the grower had a male that created that seed and you got lucky with a female, but not likely.Found a seed in some grape ape buds that must've hermied from stress. Luckily it was a female, and now a healthy mother.
Affirmative. And the degree of hermie the plant expresses or percentage of male flowers that show up tends to carry over for succesive generations. While plants that show only slight hermie tendencies or just pop out an occasional or few male flowers will tend to produce female seeds with those same traits. There is some variation within these parameters, but most seeds will follow this pattern. I personally don't have a lot of experience with them, but this info comes from credible sources like Ed Rosenthal's MGG.Hermie seeds produce hermies and females correct?
P.s. guess my grape ape weight! lol
