It was kind of hard to get a good pic of this strain with flash, very lime green with very light hairs.

Well, just got done trimmin' my fan leaves off my grape apes and hung them to start off my drying process. It's always fun to guess the dry weight so let's get it going, how much do you think I will pull off these wonderful girls? I was hoping for 3 oz's but doubt i will get that, I'm guessing 60 grams.

Found a seed in some grape ape buds that must've hermied from stress. Luckily it was a female, and now a healthy mother.
One of the best seemingly little known bonuses about plants that produce an occasional male flower is the pollen is short the male chomosome and the seeds it produces will be all female. More serious hermies produce the same result, but the offspring carry the same disposition for widespread male flowers. As some know, this is how feminized seeds were developed, that some complain about carrying too much hermie traits in the plants. It is possible the grower had a male that created that seed and you got lucky with a female, but not likely.

Hermie seeds produce hermies and females correct?

P.s. guess my grape ape weight! lol
Affirmative. And the degree of hermie the plant expresses or percentage of male flowers that show up tends to carry over for succesive generations. While plants that show only slight hermie tendencies or just pop out an occasional or few male flowers will tend to produce female seeds with those same traits. There is some variation within these parameters, but most seeds will follow this pattern. I personally don't have a lot of experience with them, but this info comes from credible sources like Ed Rosenthal's MGG.

P.S. It's hard to take a gander from the pics. But if you want to get a really close estimate that you can hit within a couple grams, cut the buds off the stems like you would for the finished product and weigh what you have there. Then subtract 75% and- Voila! From fresh picked and trimmed material the 75% figure is so accurate it's amazing. Many have used this number for years and swear by it's accuracy. Sure, it depends on just how dry you want your stash. But when the buds are leathery dry, about perfect, the number rings true.

Well just got back from a camping trip and recently found out my dry weight. Pretty disappointing only got about 50 grams. :/ i got about 30 g's of nice dense nugs the rest is a little airy unfortunately, The heat wave we had slowed there growth down. Need to invest in a co2 tank :S Buds were frosty as fuck otherwise.

Also getting ready to harvest my rock hard white rhino pheno which i am now more excited about. Never seen this strain from nirvana do so well.

Might throw a few pics up later unless this thread is already dead. :peace:
