ph it to 6.0, and the point of the system is to eliminate the need for pump and such.... just hand water ad let them grow

Hey guys just checking in noce to see that we have alot people giving hempy a shot.... I am well into my grow, but I am trying to plan ahead.... I have had to transplant all of my plants the roots simply outgrew the pot, I have all these rubbermaid bins around, is it ok to grow multiple plants in once container, similar to a dwc set up, but just the container filled with perlite?? it would help me manage space better?? what do you guys think?

It should be ok as long as the tubs are like 20 gallons u should be able to fit 3-4 in a 20 gallon tub

thats what I was thinking just one 20 galon with 4 plants in it, I would set up something to catch the run off since the container is so big otherwise i think it will work I am going to give it a go once I am sone with my current grow, may us this idea for the clones I just took...... hey anybody got an opinion on those high output t5s I cant go hid seems like this may be the next best thing??

I was gona do T5's as well but then I looked at how many I was gona need for the amount of lumes I needed for my cabinet, so I just ended up going with a 250 HPS setup, it was alittle and it uses about 50 watts less then the T5 setup I needed..

Not sure yet, I am on my first grow with it and I'm not intothe flowering stage yet, I use cfl's in the veg stage... But I bought a 4 inch HVAC inline vent fan from Home Depot for 25 bucks, and cut a 4 inch hole in my cabinet and installed it it pulls hot air from cabinet into a carbon filter.. I'll let you know when I get to that point

and its easy

cool tube (bake a round off ebay, and a fan and some dryer air ducting)... done for 30-60 bucks depending on the fan you get for it...

what are some mediums people here use for hempy? i was considering a mixture of perlite and hydroton. i have never seen it done before and giving my roots proper air is important.

i run 100%perlite an its what i recomend as its ph neutral....hydroton imo gets salt build up rather quick an can shift ph considerbly....peace az

Like a perlite DWC tank? ...hmmm I think I really like this idea

I wonder what would happen to the nutrient solution as it sits in the bottom of such a large container? Will it be the beginnings of PH issues?

That's a lot of perlite! I picked up my bag of perlite today and it is huge - 6 cubic ft. But I'd bet it would probably only be enough to fill a couple of 20 gal tubs.

Az, can you show us a picture of your Hempy Jungle? Would there be any need to use the lid? I have some with 4 holes cut out and 8 holes cut out; but would we even need them?

lol..i wish i had pics from them but i only got 2 nug shots left from the strain i grew threw it(mexi staiva)....like i said 3/4 way full...lets say 15gal worth...i would give 2gal perplant root zone....so about 7plants...no lid....just be ready for a jungle....an you want to put established plants intheir..so transplant out of 16-32oz cups after the roots have begun to wind around then put in tub veg for a couple more weeks..then flip to flower an be ready......peace az
